Who is the best comedian of all time?

Bill Hicks only applies to a certain group of people.(mainly the angry left) He is not for everyone, so how can he be the best of all time? All of his material is one sided, predictable, and mean. He seems to be very bitter. He's not really a comedian he just roasts people that he doesn't like, which(don't get me wrong) can be very funny. But in this case, no. If I can predict your political views based on if you listen to a certain comedian, chances are they are not the best comedian of all time. Side: Brian Regan

OMG...I forgot Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Lenny Bruce and Sam Kinneson! There are scores of them through the years that lasted for an entire career of 30 - 40 years of GREAT comedy. There were also many that never uttered a blue note, (FYI Jake). Most of the people I'm talking about were so good at what they did you NEVER got up to get anything while they were on. Jackie Mason is still going strong when he's on Broadway. He is still one of the best. You guys don't know what you've missed. Side: legends

I said I would give it to Katt Williams, to me he is the best comedian of all time. He always makes me laugh and he is more modern a comedian that makes jokes for the younger crowd. I don't know how old you are but I have never heard of Carlin or Hicks before in my life. Katt Williams always makes me laugh. Watching his shows he never made a joke that did not have the whole damn place busting their guts and laughing their asses off. But hey thats just me and that my OPINION. Side: Kat Williams
George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Chris Rock, Eugene Mirman, Bill Burr Not quite as funny, but definitely awesome: Bill Maher. Hey, respond with your WORST Comedians: Joey "I make you dumber by talking to you" Kola, Dane "Screaming > humor" Cook, "Carlos Mencia" = Ned "I steal all my jokes and fake my ethnicity to capitalize on Mexican humor" Holdness Side: Eddie Murphy

I started this because I just saw the Life Water commercial with Naomi Campbell and the dancing lizard/newt/gecko things that first aired during the Super Bowl (I think) for the trillionth time. She can't even dance!!! How is the world is a less than mediocre rendition of the legendary 'Thriller' dance going to make me want to drink Life Water?! Who works at these advertising agencies? Seriously. Side: Eddie Murphy
George Carlin and Bill Hicks are my favourite comics by a mile. Other greats: Richard Pryor Kathleen Madigan Jerry Seinfeld Maria Bamford Brian Regan Woody Allen Robbin Williams Chris Rock Eddie Izzard Lewis Black Kathy Griffin is the worst comic ever. And I don't find Mitch Hedberg funny, at all. And Lenny Bruce may have been a seminal comic but his stuff is not that funny, it's intelligent and sharp, but I don't know why everyone thinks it is so funny. Side: Eddie Murphy

First of all, if anyone says Dane Cook I will kill them. I think that Brain Regan is the very best. (he's not very popular, which is a good hint because a lot of people don't know what good comedy is anymore) He can be funny without going blue, ever. Give me another comedian that can do that. .... ... Brian Regan on UPS

All comedians are different and all have special material that they use. But for me, it would be Lucy from "I Love Lucy" plus she was a cousin on my father's side of the family. Something I never knew until a few years back. I vote for the crazy red head, Lucy! Southern smiles and world peace, Sharon ~The Baby Boomer Queen~ Side: I LOVE LUCY
I think that Dane Cook is very funny. What I think of good comedy is something that makes me laugh, to me that is good comedy. So what kind of jokes does Brain Regan make? Chicken crosses the road? Is that what good comedy is? If someone can consistently make me bust my gut I find that person to be a good comedian. Since Dane Cook does that I find him to be a good comedian. Side: Kat Williams
