Who is the biggist threat to the US

We all know about Al Quida and if you keep an eye on the border the name Los Zeta is not new to you both are well funded well trained (well zetas are anyway) both have acsess to military grade weaponry (that's right gun control didn't work in Mexico) an nether one has any problem finding willing recruites. But with the Islamo-badys bogged down in goatsville and cartel violence now occurring north of the border many now believe the real  threat to US national security is already kicking in our front door.

The answer is (C) American republicans.

Al Qaeda would not exist without them. Al Qaeda is a response to U.S. involvement in the middle east. The stated purpose of Al Qaeda is to support and create "true Islamic states" and to keep westerners out of their holy lands. Of course the US is always in their neighborhood making that difficult. And what do we have to show for this new enemy we've created?

Result: 0 new free democratic nations built, 0 WMD's found, - 2,977 Americans dead on 9/11 + thousands more dead Americans fighting the "war on terror" and occupying Iraq for 8 years. (100's of thousands of dead Iraqis and Afghanis)

The Los zetas drug cartel would not exist without the republican party either. It was Nixon, a republican, that started the "war on drugs" that this organization capitalizes on. It has also been the republican party that has fought this war for years. It is this policy that causes drug running to be so profitable, and thus creates potential for horrible organizations like this.

Every action has a reaction. It's the republican party that has created these wars, and wars are bound to create enemies.

Really? I was going to say Obama. He's business as usual. Where's this change he promised? We still have Guantanamo and we're still fighting in the middle east. I thought he was going to bring the boys home. This is his second term and he still doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. I think the answer is (D), Obama and the Liberal Democrats ;)

I don't see Obama stoping the war on drugs (wich by the way refers to the outlawing of narcotics with out which law enforcement would not be able to protect us from these animals) nether did carter or Clinton nor did I see them pull troops out on the Middle East. So the democrats are as much to blame as anyone els. Furthermore perhaps you have forgotten this as you liberals forget all the good things the US dose. But we toppled Hussein's regime and installed a representative form of government. Shore it looks chaotic now but give it time remember socially the musslem world is still in the dark ages. Once they get the hang of this freedom and equality concept Iraq will be looked good.

I'm not a fan of Obama either. I didn't vote for him. I'm a Ron Paul guy.

These are facts though. For the "war on terror" we have George W. to thank. For the "war on drugs" we can thank Richard Nixon.

Republicans are quite famous for creating unwinnable "wars" on this concept or that. If they can convince us we are in a time of war, presidents can abuse their power and sidestep congress. Of course "terror" and "drugs" aren't going anywhere, these things are human nature. However, these "wars" have been very successful in eroding away our constitutional protections, bringing about the patriot act and the NDAA. (now supported by Obama as well)

Republicans use to be the party of non-interventionism. In 2000 George W. Bush ran on a no nation building, no policing of the world platform. That's how he won the election, because people wanted non-interventionist foreign policy.

Now, people like myself that could possibly be a republican voter, are disgusted by the party's policing of the world, (which cost nearly a trillion dollars every year that we don't have) and will never vote republican again.

So keep up the crazy talk republicans, keep trying to invade Iran and send your drones out to spy on Americans, all you are doing is growing the libertarian party more and more every year.

"Los Zetas is a powerful and violent criminal syndicate in Mexico, and is considered by the U.S. government to be the most technologically advanced, sophisticated, and dangerous cartel operating in Mexico" - Wikipedia

ISIS is very dangerous and a horrible terrorist group. ISIS should be watched for threats daily.

Side: Al Quida

In comparison to AL Aquida, Los Zetas is more powerful. They were originally a special forces team for the Mexican Army until they broke away and started the cartel, their violence spills over into the United States.

But neither of these groups are the biggest threat to America, its not the men with turbans in Pakistan, its not the men with tattoos in Mexico, its the men in suits in Washington DC.

Al Qaeda poses no threat to the United States whatsoever, they can't do damn thing to them. They're being slowly hunted to extinction right now. What honestly could they do? Airport security is a lot better (minus TSA) now, and it would be much harder to get Al Qaeda into the US than us getting to them. However, Los Zetas also poses no real threat to America. The real biggest threat to America is its own government, banks and corporations. I would have liked an "other" option instead of Los Zetas, since you're asking us who is the biggest threat but only give us two choices.

Out of the two choices though, it's more likely that drug-trading violent Mexicans, which are closer, are a bigger threat than people hiding over in the Middle East. America doesn't seem to be doing much about Los Zetas.

Al Qaeda would really love to be a threat; but with all eyes on them they can't even take a shit in a Tora Bora cave without someone in Washington knowing how bad it stinks. Ain't no one looking South at Los Zetas so they are, quite literally, getting away with murder.
