Stalin's death toll for non combatants sits at about 20 million(incredibly conservative estimate, some put it at closer to 40 million). Hitler's death toll for non combatants sits at about 11 million. Both people deliberately killed millions of people due to their ethnicity, both were autocratic dictators, both rose to power based on false promises of populism only to enact Authoritarian reactionary policies, etc. Stalin was a sound military tactician with a small man complex, Hitler was a skilled orator whose tactical mistakes ended the Nazi regime. I'll take the incompetent orator, who I can count on to destroy his own works, over the little overlord who won't hesitate to kill both his allies and his enemies. Side: Hitler

This is like choosing to shot in the head or guillotined. Either way, It's going to be a shitty time. But... if I had to choose, it would be Stalin. Because he only killed so many because he was careless and sold off all of his grain. He had a loose grip the general population as well. That combined with large land borders that are hard to defend (harder to keep people in) so it would be easier for me and the people a care about to sneak out to a better country. "Better" being used loosely because pretty much all nearby countries were screwed up post WW2. Side: Stalin
