I am not saying I want a one party system. And I would love to force the Democratic Party to be more liberal so they would actually change something. But the Republican Party is definitely not going to force the Democratic Party to be more liberal. If anything Republicans force Democrats to be more moderate or conservative so the less power Republicans have the more liberal Democrats can be. Side: Michael Steele
They do need to get something done though to get the people to support them again. The main problem is they aren't persistent like the Democrats. It also helps though that Hollywood and most media outlets are Liberal. It's the same thing that happened just after Lincoln died and the Democrats took control over New York. Side: Michael Steele
I would not necessarily say that they need to do something big, all they have to do is take the Congress's do-nothing approach that the Democrats took during the last few years of Bush's Presidency. All they did was watched and waited for the Republicans to fail so they could blame them for all the problems in the world. I'm not quite sure who is going to be the leader of the Republican party, but I'm guessing that it won't matter because the Democrats will have messed up badly and in 2012 the whole "It's Bush's Fault" arguement won't matter to the average American.
