Why Are Americans So Disproportionately Stupid? Hello S: Well, they USED to teach music.. Not any more.. They used to teach gym.. Not any more.. And, MOST importantly, they used to teach civics. I don't think americans are stupid, I do however think many of them are very misinformed, and not able to distinguish reliable sources from unreliable sources. I think this is a result from a very insufficient education system for two reasons. The first one is that there are many religious schools, that fail to teach the value of critical thinking. The second reason is the fact that the good schools are reserved only for those rich enough to pay for them or to people who are able to receive scholarships. That means that the masses do not have access to the good schools, and therefore do not receive a good education. This creates a society of people that do not know how to handle information given to them - they do not know how to analyze an article, the motives the publisher may or may not have, or credibility in general. 1

Like I argued it's a lack of reason rather than a lack of intelligence. Most Americans have grown up in an insulated bubble where their news has been spoon fed to them. As a result the country has normalised some very abnormal practices, like challenging science armed with nothing but flash rhetoric. 1

Also, I think religion and the religious mindset have played a big factor. Nine out of every ten people in the US is religious. With numbers that high there isn't any way to effectively separate church from state because every politician is going to know they need to appeal to the religious demographic in order to stand any chance of being elected. 0

I think you have a bad sample population. You enter an echo chamber, and all you hear is the same thing. But that echo chamber is not reflective of the entire population. Of course, but in his defence I don't think you can ignore that there is a serious problem over there. One of the major two political parties (and the one currently in power) is literally prepared to ignore science. Worse, they are keen to convince other people to ignore it too. 0

I ever said anything about the Internet. And my people? Who are my people? With all due respect you do not know who I am or what I stand for. If I have said or done something that supports your position, please let me know. I will acknowledge it, or correct it if I. misspoke. Erroneous and fact-less assumptions add no substantive value to a debate. 1

It definitely isn't just you, and there's a very simple answer. Ideology. It's the same beast which turned Europeans into bulging eyed, raging lunatics who kidnapped young girls and then burned them at the stake because they thought they were witches. The same beast which compelled Germans to murder millions of innocent people for ridiculous reasons. Ideology makes people mad, and when people are mad, they can't reason. And that is the problem with Americans. It isn't a lack of intelligence. It's a lack of reason. 1

You provided a link stating that 880,000 Americans became millionaires last year I provided you a link to a professional study which concludes that American adults are below the average international intelligence level. How about you stop ignoring it you stupid little cretin? I don't know how many times we have explained to your ridiculously stupid, corrupt self, that making money is not the same thing as having a high IQ. Tesla had no money but a ridiculously high IQ. Paris Hilton has a ton of money but a low IQ. Understand retard? 1

Lol. Another good one for Bronto:- The new surveys also validate another cornerstone of overconfidence research: that the least intelligent tend to be the most overconfident. While university graduates (who are typically one standard deviation higher than average in intelligence) collectively tended to slightly underestimate their intelligence, those participants whose highest qualification was a high school diploma collectively over-shot in estimating theirs. Ahahahahaha! 0

I wouldn't admit that 880,000 idiots can figure out how to make millions while you can't figure out how to make $5. 🤣🤣😂👀 Of course American numbers are skewed. We import people with no education or the ability to speak English by the millions via leftist migration policies. You're dumb Nom. Time to face reality. You aren't very smart. Paris Hilton has a ton of money but a low IQ. Understand retard? Riiiight Nom. 880,000 new millionaires isn't 880,000 people who all were born into money. They're new millionaires you clown. Oprah Winfrey was born into poverty. Mark Zuckerberg was born into a middle class family. Larry Ellison was raised poor. Sheldon Adelson was born into poverty. John Paul DeJoria was born into poverty. Howard Schultz was born into poverty. Ralph Lauren was raised poor. Kenneth Langone was raised poor. Harold Hamm, poor. Alan Gerry, poor. And you? Play Skyrim and cry on debate sites all day and bitch that they have money while you don't while claiming to be smarter than them and believing you have "white privilege". 🤣🤣🤣😂👀 I think a big part of it comes down to pride. It's a very American thing to be Proud to be an American TM. And with pride comes complacency in oneself, almost cockiness. Believing in yourself so much that you ignore the negative aspects because it doesn't fit your image. So many Americans have the belief that this country is the best in the world and if you're the best, then you're clearly the smartest. It's delusional. Another big issue is greed. The top 1% own a disproportionate amount of wealth in the country, among the highest in the first world. So many Americans live in or near poverty and it's truly sad. When you're having trouble putting food on the table, it's hard to prioritize studying or helping your child study. And come time to finish high school, or even sooner, it's time to get to work. Not to mention that this whole imbalance of power makes the government easily swayed by the elite, who want to keep the status quo the way it is by underfunding education and ignoring the student loan crisis. 1

I think a big part of it comes down to pride. It's a very American thing to be Proud to be an American TM. But how can Americans be unaware that this is exactly how the Nazis were able to drum up so much support? They used the concept of the nation as a form of unification precisely so they could accuse anybody who dissented from their policies of being treasonous or anti-German. The propaganda tactics of the fascists have been thoroughly researched and documented, so how is it possible that Americans could fall for them again? Another big issue is greed. I completely agree, but again, this is behaviour which is being nurtured in most people. Greed is not naturally a common characteristic, but people are being persuaded to adopt it in order to increase their chances of success in a very messed up system, and instead of questioning that system, most people happily become greedy and self-centred. 1

And that is exactly how the guys in charge want it. Delusion is the best possible tool for manipulating others to your own will. That has been evident ever since the Catholic Church had political control of Europe. 1
