Why "Gender Equality" makes no sense.

1) Certain traits are prevalent at different capacities among the female and male populations.

2) Different traits and their prevalence lead the individuals that possess them to different achievements and specializations.

3) As such most men and women won’t achieve the same achievements and won’t specialize in the same professions under the same conditions as different traits that are prevalent at different capacities among the female and male populations respectively will direct them at different paths.

Equality under the law makes sense, but to expect equality of outcome is to lack an understanding of the biological differences between men and women. While many differences exist, one that is particularly important is the fact that, in general, males are more thing-oriented and women are more person-oriented (Source 1). Further, this difference is biological, not social, in nature (Source 2). This difference alone is sufficiently explanatory of why females are underrepresented in STEM fields and overrepresented in professions such as nursing and social care (Source 3).

Lol health class is so funny... We learned that women are oppressed in every part of life. And then, when someone disagreed with my health teacher, she flipped her shit and started calling the kid (whose a girl. She’s also like the nicest person in my school) a sexist blind idiot. The security had to come and take the kid to another room for fear that my teacher would hurt her.

LOL

You aren't allowed to challenge a rabid liberal priest's orthodoxy. What's amazing is they act like it isn't a religion while claiming fairy tales and ignoring science to validate their beliefs.

Hey Sherlock! Haven't you noticed? It's 2018 and segregation is over. Gender equality is fair! Males can do things females can do and females can do what makes can do. It makes sense. Period.

Great. I'd like for you to pop out a baby and give it milk from your mammary glands. I will also be taking some of your ovarian eggs for a sample.

And if you are a woman, run the 100 meters in 10 seconds.

Which males can do things which females can do and which females can do things which males can do? there're certainly traits that're prevalent at different capacities among the female and male populations and there're in fact things that only males/females can do.

True, but those specific variations DO aggregate across the species into different distributions by sex.

Bell Curves vice Individual Variations

Sex is not like race where the demarcations of the categories are based on arbitrarily selected phenotypes. Sex is based on genotypic differences, and the distributions of the bell curves for women differ from those of men for multiple sex-linked characteristics (e.g., strength, aggressiveness, agreeableness, etc..) For any sex-linked characteristic, the bell curves for men are offset from those of women. In some of these traits, the difference is slight, and in some of these traits the differences are extreme.

Any trait that is highly affected by testosterone tends to be more different between men and women. For example, as individuals and as a population, men are MUCH more aggressive than are women. This is why only 10-15% of murders are committed by women.

Conversely, women have a much higher rate of agreeableness. This is why there are fewer women CEOs, politicians, and prisoners.

Absolutely, it is true that some women are stronger than some men, but it is also true that the median men are significantly stronger than the median women. Absolutely there is a statistically significant portion of the distribution of men who are stronger than ALL women.

Differences in Brain Structure

Camille Paglia observed that "There is no female Mozart because there is no female Jack the Ripper."

The differences for average intelligence are slight, but the intelligence distributions are shaped differently. The bell curve for men's intelligence is wider, covering a wider range of IQ, whereas women tend to cluster toward the mean. There are more men than women in the top and bottom percentiles. (In other words, overall, men tend to be both smarter and dumber.)

Other brain differences include:

-The width of the corpus colostrum (connects left & right brain) is greater in women.

-The limbic cortex (regulates emotions) is larger in women.

-The hippocampus (turns short term memories to long term memories) is larger in women. (This is why my wife remembers details of previous arguments that I have forgotten)

-Women have up to ten times more white matter (connects different processing centers). This helps them be better multi-taskers.

-Men have larger amygdala, which contributes to greater aggression.

These are just some of the differences.

These differences are among the things that explain why most CEOs and engineers and mechanics and soldiers are men, and why most nurses and grade school teachers, and social workers are women.

Yep, it always helps make jobs diverse when women actually apply for the jobs. It's quite magical. Is it sexist that women aren't doing construction jobs, or do women just not want to do construction jobs?

Can I be in pharmaceutical sales? Of course not. Why? We both know why.

Um...I'm not 100% sure you're joking or not but if you aren't....you should go out more. There are women in construction working right next door to my office and the Target store I frequent has a pharmacy with not one but two men working the pharmacy counter. My mother was a nurse for a loooong time and she constantly remarked on the differences between sales techniques between men and women when they were trying to sell drugs. Both are equally adept at flirting but they adjust their sales approach depending on who is in the office. The males would flirt outrageously with the nurses and act business-like with the Doctors, and the females would flirt with the Doctor's and barely acknowledge the nurses.

Is it sexist that women aren't doing construction jobs, or do women just not want to do construction jobs?

While the vast majority of fortune 500 CEOs are men, men are also the vast majority (92%) of workplace deaths.

Is it sexist that women are trying to break through the glass ceiling, but are not trying to break into the glass coffin?

My grandfather worked as a pharmaceutical salesman. And it's not that uncommon to see women working in construction. Are you living in the 19th century?

Certain women wont, certainly more women than men wont. Who's built for serving coffee?

I don't think that's the focus.

I BELIEVE THAT GENDER EQUALITY MAKES SENSE.MEN AND WOMEN ARE THE SAME NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ANYONE.FOR HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP ON UNDERMINING THE OPPOSITE SEX.PEOPLE IS THAT NOT BEING TOTALLY SEXIST,IS THAT NOT UNDERMINING A PERSON AND ALSO LOWERING A PERSONS SELF-ESTEEM.IT JUST SHOWS THAT THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY IN OUR COUNTRY,EQUALITY OR WHATSOEVER.SO I URGE YOU PEOPLE TO PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHAT I HAVE SAID TODAY.

Fehhzi,

MEN AND WOMEN ARE THE SAME NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ANYONE.FOR HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP ON UNDERMINING THE OPPOSITE SEX.

Absolutely we should have the same rights, and be equal under the law.

However, it is nonsensical to assert that men and women are the same.

Men have a penis, whereas women have vaginas.

Men continue to be fertile from puberty to death. Women are only capable of reproducing between puberty and menopause. Not the same.

Only women can have babies. Not the same.

In general, men are much stronger than women. True, some women are stronger than some men, but no women are stronger than all men. Because of the higher levels of testosterone, men develop more muscle mass. Not the same.

In general, male babies show more interest in things than in people, and female babies show more interest in people than in things. This plays out in career choices. Women gravitate overwhelmingly toward caregiving professions, whereas men gravitate to the trades. Not the same.

The corpus colostrum (the connection between the two hemispheres of the brain) is narrower in men than in women. This helps men to compartmentalize better than women, and to focus on the task at hand, even in the wake of some emotionally traumatic event. Not the same.

This is really a wasted argument. The only handicap in raw strength can be overcome by modern machinery. I mean I’m a man and I don’t go around picking up 300lbs. I use a lift! Geez

Gender equality isn't about making the two sexes the same, it's about providing equal opportunity for the sexes, not discriminating against either sex.

Today most feminist issues try to address speculative discrimination in statistics and blaming the statistics on men or some rooted discrimination of women and sometimes the solutions talked about sometimes involve boosting women (though men far less frequently) into roles they are less capable for in the ways you describe, so I understand the misinterpretation but it's not meant to be like this.
