The words of Jesus were never anything special either way just basic common sense , if you want a demonstration of the way your average Christian behaves just look at the ones here on CD who never ' turn the other cheek ' or demonstrate the much quoted ' love thy neighbour as thyself ' they only CLAIM to believe because the vast majority do and act in the total opposite way that they hypocritically preach at others . If the majority of the worlds populations claim to be believers the majority are not very good at it are they ? A quick look through any so called god fearing nation will show how poorly they treat , the elderly , sick and destitute people .. it's all hypocrisy at its worst ..... What would Jesus think of his modern day followers ? What would Mohammed think of his modern day followers ? Quran As mentioned, there are nearly 500 verses from 87 Suras that speak of Hell. This is just a sample: Quran (40:71-72) - When the fetters and the chains shall be on their necks; they shall be dragged Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned Quran (22:19-21) - But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads; Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted; And for them are hooked rods of iron Quran (4:56) - Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise 1

I see you are responding....when I don't respond to your idiotic comments, it's only because I quit reading them since trying to tell you how you can be saved is what Jesus referred to as casting pearls before swine. The good in the words of any person from history, religious or otherwise, remains intact to persuade or uplift any and all future people. But it's up to those future people to use what's good from the lesson instead of dwelling on what's bad and instead of bastardizing them into something else which serves their own human purposes. People, from ANY church denomination, who point to Jesus but then act like jerks, truly have missed the point of what we should have learned from Jesus. And likewise, quoting scriptures many years after his death which were written to dwell on fear and punishment and authoritarianism, is a misunderstanding that those twists on his life were yet another example of humans inserting what served their own purposes at the time. Oh, looks like the Darwin idolizing guy is still with us and not burning in Hell. That's good, there's still time so maybe he can realize God loves Him and come into agreement with God regarding his twisted heart which is unworthy of life and find God's mercy through faith in the blood of His Son which covers the sin of all who believe He is the Living God who died for their sins and rose in victory over sin, death, and Hell and will judge the living and the dead. Too bad you're still a dead man walking, but maybe you'll wake up and get saved before it't too late and you wake up in Hell having sealed your dying in preference of your pride. ( I ), admit to being a "sinner", in the Biblical sense of the word. I just don't agree with the Biblical sense of the word. I think people who slander others, who tell them they should "go to hell", who call them sinners because they don't believe the things THEY have been taught, who believe other religions are all false and they will wage war on those others to MAKE them believe .... are the REAL sinners! I find it hard to believe that those bigots will be welcome in a loving place before a really NICE "sinner" is. I wouldn't WANT to be with THEM. They have killed and tortured many but has done a lot of charity work and set up many hospital and schools. So we can't tell if they are true or false teachers or not. We actually can tell them by their fruits. What the Roman Catholic Church did was wrong. If they would have studied, and read the Bible they wouldn't have killed, or tortured peoplee because nowhere in the New Testament does Jesus really instruct anyone to do such a thing. On a side note, you actually can people by their fruits. I see it all the time whenever I'm out and about in this world. I'm aware of how people are. It certainly does work. Does God really mock atheists? When an atheists faces tragedy or sudden hardship and says "Oh God!!!!" Does God think it's funny that they said He is not there and then they cry out to Him when their calamity comes?, and they still won't believe He is there...Does God hold them in derision while they cry out to the only One who could help them while they deny He is there? It is kinda funny, isn't it? Yeah, it's kinda funny but it's sad. They're not going to Heaven. |
