Why are ghosts so feared?
This may seem like a odd question. But why are ghosts feared so much?
With the plehora of ghost movies and stories, why are people so afaird of ghosts.
A ghost is the soul or spirit of a deceased person, taken to be capable of appearing in visible form or otherwise manifesting itself to the living.
How can ghosts be depicted as capable of harming humans when they have no physical form?
Are ghosts really capable of harming people or is it a Hollywood affect?
If you actually know anyone over the age of 10 who is really afraid of ghosts... as in spends time being afraid of them as opposed to just thinking they're a scary fictional concept... mock them. Mock them hard. (For a more serious answer, people are afraid of them because they're raised being told to be afraid of them and never get over it. If you don't want your kid growing up being afraid of ghosts just don't teach them to be.) 1

I know a ghost hunter. I haven't any idea how people can be afraid of them - that is, if they are incapable of taking physical form. Perhaps they have psionic abilities? Perhaps they can go into the physical world at will and do whatever carnage they wish? Perhaps, maybe, if they do indeed exist, Hollywood is completely off in their depictions of spirits. P.S. You wrote 'plehora' instead of 'plethora'. P.P.S. I refer all readers to this debate, on a similar vein: http://www.createdebate.com/debate/show/ 1
