The defense of the Broncos forced turnovers, which basically turned the game around. Carolina did not know what was going on, as they were surprised by the brick wall. Cam Newton was held to minimal passing yards because of the amazing cornerback defense. When they tried to run the ball, they got stuffed by the defensive line, and linebackers before he broke he broke out. The offense did not get going until the momentum shifted from the forced turnovers. Side: Defense

The Broncos won the Super Bowl purely because of their defense. If you look at the yardage that Manning put up, it wasn't much, showing that the Bronco's offense wasn't the key. Also the strip-sacks on Newton played a big part in winning the game, considering one of them was "returned" for a touchdown. If the Bronco's defense wasn't up to par, the Panthers would have rolled over them, without any problem, considering how great their defense is. Side: Defense
