Why didn't Jesus say or do anything useful while he was here?

Rather than doing some cheap magic tricks, correcting people who thought Old Testament law no longer applied, telling people to murder their children and slaves to obey their masters, why didn't Jesus impart some real wisdom?

you know, like maybe something about slavery being bad, electricity, DNA, microorganisms, antibiotics, the printing press, cars, computers, facebook, pants....

Odd that he didn't seem to know anything other than what the primitive desert-dwelling illiterates of the time knew, isn't it?

Thou shalt not add thy parents on Facebook... for it is awkward.

Ha! This is true... I hate FaceBook and really never use it but my mother friend requested me and I was all.... Hell no!

While I am not a Christian...

Exactly how would one go about explaining ANY of that to a society at that level of progression? They'd burn him at the stake! Or maybe crucify him.

They'd burn him at the stake! Or maybe crucify him.

Only if he wanted them to...which of course he did.

So yeah Jesus, a little help please...before temporarily dying and then fucking off again after a day and a half like nothing happened, never to be seen again.

Jesus did say some useful things, i mean look at the bible, that's all useful.

Odd that he didn't seem to know anything other than what the primitive desert-dwelling illiterates of the time knew, isn't it?

Remember, God whispers information into Jesus's ear that no one else knows and no one else can hear.

Hail Satan.

(1) He lived sinlessly so that He could die as a spotless lamb.

(2) He died on the cross as a spotless lamb, to take the sins of the world upon His shoulders, in order that we might live in peace with God.

But everyone is born in sin, so how could he have lived sinlessly?

Let me ask you this: what does it mean to be born into sin?

Meh? Just another hippie burnout, probably stoned all day and did nothing with his life.

Maybe just maybe your being a trifle unfair , because by all accounts he was a good horse thief (useful skill?)....let's look at this bearded idiot breaking two of his own laws lying , and stealing .......

If you are a person who steals other people's stuff, you are a jerk. In Mark 11:1-3 we find this transaction:

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.' "

How many times have you had some jerk say, "let me borrow this and I'll return it in a minute," never to see that person again? It is a common scam. And that's exactly what Jesus does. The disciples take the colt, but if you search the scriptures you find that they never bother to return it. Wow - what a jerk.......and maybe I'm really out on a limb here he never done or said anything useful because he didn't exist , no mention of the bearded horse thief in any history books anywhere ( don't even mention the one dubious one) funny how historians who named, local shopkeepers but failed to mention the horse thief ... Strange or what

Actually there is some evidence that Jesus existed other than the Bible. Here are some non-christian sources that mention Jesus. However, just because he existed doesn't mean any of the supernatural stories attributed to him are true. He was most likely a very charismatic and inspirational person who challenged the judgmental and oppressive culture that was so common back then. Possibly someone like Martin Luther King. It's possible that he never even claimed to be the son of god and that someone just made that part up. The historical evidence is so sketchy that we will probably never know the real story behind Jesus.

Thank you for that my opinion is if Jesus existed he was possibly the local lunatic here's what I found

Evidence for the historical existence of Jesus of Nazareth (the Christ) as portrayed in the Bible is only found in three places: the Bible itself, other early Christian writings, and references by the various early churches (c. 100 CE) to the long dead leader of those churches. There are no contemporaneous sources outside of the early Christian community.

Historians focusing on this era generally accept that there was likely an individual named Jesus who lived in Palestine roughly two millennia ago, had a very small following of people studying his views, was killed by the government, and whose life became pivotal to some of the world's largest religions. Beyond this, however, there is no evidence over the accuracy of any of the descriptions of his life, as described in the Bible or as understood by his believers. A small minority, past[1] and present[2] believe there is insufficient justification to assume any individual human seed for the stories, representing an extreme in the other end of belief. It's all interesting anyways hehehe
