Why does a speech mistake make people laugh? (See below)

During evolution, humans needed to coordinate mutual actions and they had something that they had to communicate, so language appeared. In a primitive society, environments where people live were full of crises. Communication of ideas was a serious thing. Humans had to scramble to grab information contained in one's speech, for fear of a small accident. And a small mistake made in pronunciation may drive humans into trouble. So language has been a serious thing. Since so, why nowadays a mistake made in one's speech can make people laugh?

For a demonstration of the dangers of mispronunciation and a laugh see;- The two Ronnies, four candles/fork handles.

It's the embarrassment it causes to the speaker (who might not immediately notice the error) which I believe is most frequently where the amusement comes from. It's the same reason people laugh when they see someone fall over. There's a dark side to humanity where we laugh at the misfortune of others. Or, in the case of liberals, they usually pretend to be sympathetic so they can condescend and patronise about how, if you'd followed their rules, you wouldn't have fallen over or accidentally said something funny.

Equally, mistakes in speech aren't necessarily always funny. For example, when George W Bush labelled the illegal invasion of Iraq "liberation", then that wasn't funny. He liberated Iraq in the same way the conquistadors liberated America and Hitler liberated Poland.
