CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.
Romans 14:20
Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.
1 Corinthians 10:25
Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience,
1 Timothy 4:4
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,
But that leads me to this argument... Why was God wrong originally though? Isn't that an example of a form of hypocrisy in the books? If Jesus accepts the teachings of his father, why does he have to correct something that was so blatantly wrong? God gave very strict guidelines about what food was 'unclean.' Why was he wrong?
Why do Christians not do many things they ostensibly ought to do on account of their purported faith? Because it is by and large a convenience that functions to validate their relatively arbitrary worldview, and not something most would fundamentally inconvenience themselves with.
Fair enough; that's about what I thought. I was curious if there was anything in the Bible that negates that portion of the Old Testament, or if they simply decided that it lacked importance.
First, you have no way of knowing if he is a progressive. Second, what did he say that was ignorant? Third, how is he, or what he said, representative of "the Left"?
I am a hypocrite and I want sole proprietorship of an account picture that is available to anyone; so I will post the polar opposite of anyone who picks that pic, in order to negate their opinion.
First, the Christians read the whole of a communication and take into consideration that the writer might be being sarcastic and or facetious before responding; like the Bible commands.
Also change your profile pic because your God demands it.
So then Christians are wicked, demonic, hypocrites and they are all going to burn in the nuclear fire coming for this disgusting earth. You must be a Christian also?
To abstain from all unclean animals (food), is Torah (the first five books of the Bible: Genesis through Deuteronomy). To 'keep kosher' the Jewish way, is both Torah and rabbinic. There is a big difference. God requires that we eat only clean meat (Torah: Lev. 11 and Deut. 14), and so do the Rabbis. But the Rabbis go further. Keeping kosher means that one doesn't eat any dairy products with meat. The Rabbis say that one cannot have cheese with clean meat, or even use a plate for meat, that once had cheese on it.
The separation of dairy and meat, with the rabbinic injunction that it's sin if one violates it, is based on the Scripture about not boiling a kid in its mother's milk. The rabbinic view is that one should not eat meat and dairy together thereby avoiding the possibility of breaking the Commandment.1 Of course, God never says in this Commandment that one can't eat meat and dairy together, but this is how the Rabbis have interpreted it.
Now, why don't Christians eat kosher? You did a good job of answering the question "what is some worthless information that you know? " Now it is time to answer the debate question.
cause its mans laws "The fear of man bringeth a snare" its as easy as that.i didnt say they didnt eat it i said its not a law to do so..you seem to be a person that reads something and instead of understanding what you read .you make your own interpretation of what you think it should say
cause its mans laws "The fear of man bringeth a snare" its as easy as that.
Then say that the first time cocksucker.
i didnt say they didnt eat it i said its not a law to do so.
Bullshit, you specifically said it was law. You said it is in the old testament (still part of Christianity). Then, you said that Rabbis have different rules, and only mentioned not eating cheese and meat. There are more kosher rules.
you seem to be a person that reads something and instead of understanding what you read .
Don't project your actions on me. You made a post about rules that Rabbis follow when asked about Christians.
you make your own interpretation of what you think it should say
Obvious projecting here as you clearly didn't answer the question at all. You read the question and made a crazy interpretation.
I'm not sure I accept that the passage counteracts the dietary restrictions initially laid out. If they do, then that is a clear contradiction in the Bible.
In Leviticus 11:47, in laying out the dietary restrictions involved with being Kosher, God refers to animals that are not to be eaten as 'unclean' and then goes on to describe what these animals are. If he tells man to not use the word unclean, he is either contradicting himself in the past or simply dressing the use of the term. Leviticus 11 explains in great detail what animals are clean and what are unclean.
And not eating unclean animals isn't the only stipulation of being kosher. For example, Leviticus 3:17 dictates that you must not eat animal fat and Leviticus 17:12-14 says you can't have animals that still have the blood on them. Does the Bible counter these decrees?
Christians are evil, one of the most hypocritical, judgmental, unlearned religions. They don't know the Scriptures and as soon as they hear the Laws of God start being taught, they deny what the Scriptures say and come out with, "only God can judge me", "God loves everyone and HE'LL forgive me because HE loves me" or the one I love to destroy with Scripture, "it's impossible to keep all the Laws, we are saved by faith, all you have to do is believe on Jesus and you'll go to heaven" lol. Christianity is worse than Islam, and its beliefs are based off of mans own private interpretation of Scriptures, their beliefs are not based on the Bible, nor do they worship the God or the real Jesus Christ that the Bible speaks of.
God made all things clean through Jesus Christ obviating the need to keep kosher for all except the Jews who keep themselves under the law, by not accepting Christ as the Messiah.
Acts 11:"Why did you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them?" 4* But Peter began and explained to them in order: 5 "I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, something descending, like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came down to me. 6 Looking at it closely I observed animals and beasts of prey and reptiles and birds of the air. 7 And I heard a voice saying to me, 'Rise, Peter; kill and eat.' 8 But I said, 'No, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.' 9 But the voice answered a second time from heaven, 'What God has cleansed you must not call common.' 10 This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven.
