Soccer, aka futbol, is the most played sport across the globe because of one reason, it is cheap and easily accessible.

It's a quick easy simple game to learn...

You can play from a younger age. The minimum you need is a football and 2 markers of some sort and a game of football can begin.

Hard to master though....

But in some countries football as a sport is pretty much the inspiration and love.

And I also think, your opinion isn't really correct. Because the money must pay for football isn't cheap.

In UK the biggest participant sport is Angling or Fishing in lakes and rivers with a rod. professional football is not a sport,in my opinion, because of the acceptance of cheating. A player can deliberately use his hand to prevent a goal and the football authorities do nothing about it. Ireland and Ghana were cheated out of the World Cup because of DELIBERATE handball. Yet these so called professionals get paid thousands of pounds per day.

tripping, pulling shirts, pretending to fall on a player to stop him progressing towards the goal - are all accepted by FIFA.

Not a great example to children.
