Lying has always been for personal gain.--------------------------------------

I think people lie to eachother because they dont want to face the truth or the concequences. They are scared of what will happen or hurting the ones they love. But truth is... lying to them IS hurting them. So i know why they do it but i dont see the point in doing it.

Probably because we live in a society based on competition and people are starting to not trust each other.

We live in times in which the truth has to a large extent been devalued. In many quarters, lies are today's truths, why? because most people don't like the truth, the truth is always the bitterest pill to swallow. What are the probable consequences of a civilisation set up to function this way, well, we'll just have to wait and see.

Because somehow it is protection system for each person. I think we should initially know when people lie...1) when they want to save them self, 2) when they feel that they can be able to hurt someone, 2) when they want to reach the benefits from something, etc there are millions of reasons why people are using falsehood. So i want to emphasize that all mentioned points are similar for each individuals. We lie not because we want and decided before, we lie because frequently need to lie that's why people use falsehood.

We live in a time where a lot of people lie because they don't want to tell people certain information or we don't want them to know anything how much you make for your job. We live in a society that sins a lot so it is common for people to lie to each other a lot.

Truth is a very fluid thing so what one person perceive's as a lie, may in fact be another person's view of a reasonable answer. Half-truths, occasional slips in memory, and an inability to present information in a coherent way is often subconsciously done and is the root of many of the lies in this world.

When it comes to deliberate falsehoods though, you'll usually find people doing it out of an inner sense of fear or guilt. This is especially bad for the liar though because it has negative consequences that will hurt them more in the long run. Read the article below for a better explanation.

Because people: Can't admit their faults, Can't tell others theirs, want to look good to their peers; and because people are selfish...I really find it pathetic...This is why I stopped lying when I was young, because I saw how much everyone else did it, and just saw it as pathetic, and didn't want to be like everyone else...I haven't lied in 1 year.

Their are many people who lie...some for good purpose ,some for bad purpose.....

good purpose- when we dnt want to hurt anyone,sometimes bad news is also truth so many people hide this fact wid love ones....so shd we say them a lier...no they just care for that person ..........sometimes truth is not important than our loveones......

Bad purpose- when anybody want to hide anything about himself...........

Some people lie in order not to hurt another person's feelings. Others lie to prevent harm to themselves or to their families.
