Why should i be blood or crip, black or white, why be anything, why not just be youself, a gang is a cult ,a cult is a gang, a church is both, a human is none, be a good person bro, that is All that matters, if there is a god , he,she or it would understand if it is a logical being.
I grew up Christian. Most of my family is Christian but around the time I started high school I started questioning it more. So once I entered college, I took World Religion as my humanities course and that really kind of sealed the deal for me. Christianity was one of the last topics we covered and by then I realized that it sounded just as ridiculous as all of the other religions we studied. There is plenty of historical evidence that contradicts a lot of what the Bible says and it even contradicts itself multiple times.
I still believe in the possibility of a God, but I don't consider myself a Christian anymore.
When things seem out of your control you can always look up (and if the faith is real) know or believe that someone is watching you, with your best interest at heart.
So that you know or believe that when you die, the fate that awaits the human body wont await your soul.
Yet, and although you didn't ask for it, I think a little peace of mind is better for you than religion, but if you really want to hold on to one, Buddhism is a great way to go. It's not about worship, it's not filled heavy with rules, and really just peaceful.
Like what? Because when i last talked to her she doesnt use all of her knowledge because people dont listen to her or anything a Christian says. There is no need for her to go into extreme detail. Have you ever asked her to elaborate? I have. Have you?
I'm debating with her right now. Maybe she can give me some of this knowledge you're so impressed with. Then again, I could always go read the entire Bible myself and share with you everything she knows... and maybe more!
If you're asking me to search through my past arguments and find one to use as an example, then that isn't happening. I'm arguing with her in this very debate, so if you want to follow that, then be my guest.
No... you suspect that I'm full of shit, which I'm not. If you'd like to search through my arguments and find one where I debated with Hannah, then go right ahead.
I'm a Christian and have asked her to explain things to me that we disagree on in regards to Christianity. The time that she did answer she didn't give a very good answer and then other times she doesn't answer.
That's fine! I'm simply stating that I've tried debating Hannah on biblical issues before and have not seen much of a response from her. The only conclusion that can be drawn from that, since I am a Christian and she said that I was speaking satanically without giving any biblical backing, is that she was wrong. So I would have to agree with the people on this site that she doesn't understand it as well as is portrayed of her.
Nobody knows everything about Christianity. After studying with multiple pastors for years and years I do think I have enough knowledge to help anyone. Besides I have yet to reveal all of my information.
What do pastors really know? Anybody who reads the Bible can gain the same knowledge. Every Sunday they stand behind a podium and read from a book. They're professional storytellers!
Oh sure. We just parallel our understand with other ministries and pastors from around America especially some from C.O.G.I.C. We have done a lot of studying. We dont just tell stories. Also we dont just stand from behind a podium and read a book. We walk around and teach others what so and so means and we help people with struggles and we teach people how to apply the teachings of christ to their life. Of course we are non denominational so I am not sure what other churches you have been to.
Fine. Pastors don't just stand behind a podium and read... they also walk around and talk about what they read!
Do you ever sit back and think about the fact that you live your life according to a thousand year old book? Do you know how many books have been sold as non-fiction and were later proven to be false? A lot. What makes you think that the Bible is any different? You obviously think your religion is the right one. Why do you believe the others are wrong?
When a debate that harbors for that answer is present I shall answer that for you. However I have questioned the book itself. I feel transcendence when I read it and meditate on it.
Really? I asked you in this debate. Why can't you answer it here?
Understand that I am not saying something is wrong with you for being a Christian or the fact that you like to meditate on what may be the world's most ambiguous book. I grew up a Christian, but when the time came that I wanted some answers, I seeked them out... but I looked at other religions as well. When I go to church now, it feels like I'm in a cult.
Why would someone who pushes him back steer him away? When I was doubting in my faith I never ever considered leaving the faith but I was back in the faith.
Like I said it all depends on what his doubts are if he's pissed off with people telling him how he should act as a Christian someone who tries to steer him back by telling him what he should be doing if he wants to be a Christian might piss him off more. Like I said it all depends on what is causing him to doubt his faith we don't know so can only offer what assistance we guess might help
If he's having doubts maybe he should talk to someone that can explain why he is having doubts in the first place... maybe there's reasons for his doubts? Not just talk to some holy roller that will only try to steer him back.
Your not. I am just saying. If you assume she doesnt understand what struggles a person goes through in faith then I have no idea what esle you may think of any other Christian.
If you assume she doesnt understand what struggles a person goes through in faith
I made no such assumption.
Let me put it this way... Troy is Republican so let's say he hates liberals but he's having his doubts about them, Maybe they aren't so bad after all? Would you have Joe message him to help him work it out?
What if Hitler was starting to feel guilty about killing so many innocent people... you tell him to call Stalin to talk it out?
Hellno: If he's having doubts maybe he should talk to someone that can explain why he is having doubts in the first place... maybe there's reasons for his doubts? Not just talk to some holy roller that will only try to steer him back.
Yeah. Thats pretty much assuming that she will only try to bring him back in so you did make an assumption.
You are using extremes in hopes I will argue for them but I wont fall for that. That diction and syntax is a little on the menacing side. Lets use a much more easy going example instead of extremes shall we? Lets say Skittles has doubts that it can keep its business up. They talk to Starburts because they directly understand the struggles and overcame them and can tell Skittles why they feel this way. Sounds better doesnt it? We dont have to use extremes right? Thats why I want him to talk to Hannah so she can explain his emotions. Instead you made the assumption that she will just try an bring him back. See why I said that now?
You assumed she will only pull him in. I just pointed that out. Also since you provided my quote you must have missed the word "if" meaning I was uncertain if you did or not. So I provided your true assumption. There is no way for you to evade this one. So you can "sigh" and call this boring if you want. We still hold our opinion that Hannah would be a fine person for him to talk to.
Uhhhh.... yeah.... I saw the "If"... I posted it. AND I answered your uncertainty by telling you I made no such assumption. Also, I don't need your permission to "sigh" or call anything boring. As for your opinion that Hannah would be a fine person to talk to.... okay. I still hold my opinion that she will just try to solidify his Christian beliefs.
This is the exact type of petty bickering that caused me to shut down one of my debates and ban you all from the other and I'll have no part of it.
Uhhhh.... yeah.... I saw the "If"... I posted it. AND I answered your uncertainty by telling you I made no such assumption.
And thats why I gave you your true assumption which you seem to ignore.
Also, I don't need your permission to "sigh" or call anything boring.
I never claim that I had command over what you do. I say you can do whatever you want. I never claimed control of that so this is irrelevant.
As for your opinion that Hannah would be a fine person to talk to.... okay. I still hold my opinion that she will just try to solidify his Christian beliefs.
And thats an assumption based off of your past knowledge of Christians. You truly have no idea what she will truly do.
This is the exact type of petty bickering
I am having a normal debate with you and you call it petty bickering? We were arguing about something seperate.
that caused me to shut down one of my debates and ban you all from the other and I'll have no part of it.
Its the internet. You are being intolerant. You should expect things like that to happen and you banned us for no apparent reason. If fact you still remain clueless about why everybody responded the way they did. We were debating. Doimg what Andy called us to do. Nobody was abusive. You just try to play it "cool" and continue with what you do because you are one of the "long time" users. Well you have a new generation to deal with. Things happen. Deal with them.
Girl. Do not debate with these people. If they don't realize that what they are doing is technically bickering as well then so be it. Like you said he is a long time user so people would have more "respect" for him like we do for senior in high school. If he banned you just ban him indefinitely from all of your debates.
You're a Calvinist, I believe. that means that you will appreciate the following verses: Psalm 107, Matthew 5:3-11, Romans 8:28-30, and Ephesians 1 and 2. God works all things according the counsel of His will for the good of those who love Him, whom He has chosen to be His elect since before the foundation of the world to go and bear good fruit for the good of the kingdom of Christ, which is filled with those who have been brought low in order to be brought up by the love of Christ, which assures His elect of their salvation.
However, one verse that always gives me hope is Romans 8:12-19, which states the following:
"So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. / For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God."
We are Son's of God, literally. With this family we cry to our Lord and God in agonizing pain, which is the type of cry that is spoken of in this passage. This passage then leads into saying that God does everything for the good of His elect, His sons and daughters that have been paid for by the ransom of Christ. Praise be to God!
If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.
There isn't any obvious reason why you should be a Christian. Christianity is nothing but an institutionalized philosophy - there's nothing more to it. You can take part of it because of the community surrounding Christianity, and you can take part of it because you agree with the views held by Christians.
You could say that you should join Christianity because it's The Truth, but then again, who's to decide that? You have to make up your own mind. You have decide whether you accept arguments in favour of Christianity... in the end, all you got to do is to be true to what you feel. I can't tell you why you should be a Christian, you know what Christianity is, so I won't bother telling you. Believe what you believe, I don't care. Just be true to yourself.
This was probably the best response so far. I plan on doing some serious research and contemplating to see where I ultimately stand.
I'm at the age where as I start to become an adult, I really need to differentiate between my parent's beliefs and my own true beliefs. Thanks for the input though, I appreciate it.
if your in doubt because the bible contradicts itself (like most other Christians) then i don't think that's a good reason to suddenly stop being a christian.
although i'm not christian, hinduism also contradicts itself sometimes. i think its a way to convey that it is allowed to contradict your beliefs sometimes.
Religion is probably one of the most personal journeys people can take and no-one can tell you what you should personally believe, its my belief that there are no people among us that are truly enlightened so I'd be wary of anyone that tries to tell you they have all the answers and tell you what you should believe the only person who can discover that for you is yourself. If I was you I'd look into the myriad of religions that abound in this world if nothing else you might discover a bit more about the world and what makes the people in it tick and you might find the perfect religion for yourself, it might be Christianity it might not.
The important thing is you stay true to what you believe and don't just follow what others tell you to otherwise you will not find happiness in a religion. If you can't find a faith that suits you (most of them have something in there ideologies or history that people find hard to accept) and still believe in God or a God pray to him or worship in your way, he'll understand, God, the Supreme Spirit or whoever is running this show is more likely to look kindly on someone who was true to themselves and what they believed than he will someone who just followed something they did not fully believe in because they were scared of being punished in the afterlife.
In the end its your journey, and your search for enlightenment I hope you find what your looking for.
Jesus wasn't the son of the Christian god, he was just an aligner working to achieve the Final State as designed by our Onew Ruazenith. Proof of this is found by the miraculous acts he preformed as documented in the Bible, these were a gift from Ruazenith's avatar to help him guide humanity. When you add in Jesus' virgin birth and the fact that unicorns are in the Bible, we have a very solid case that Jesus Christ was working in accordance with an Avatar of Ruazenith, and was NOT the son of God.

In this statement, you just confessed to being a pagan. YOU are the liar.

This statement includes religious beliefs. Liar.
Avatar is defined as: An incarnation, embodiment, or manifestation of a person or idea.
It doesn't matter if belief in avatars is mainly a Hindu belief, that isn't my belief.
My belief doesn't claim anything supernatural, or even have a supernatural afterlife. You can't make a valid argument so all you do is assert things, or lie by misrepresenting, or adding to my statement.
This is why you shouldn't be on this site, you can't even make one argument without being dishonest.
The more Dana lies the stronger Satan becomes. Ding, Ding, Ding.
I have no problem with you quoting me, you should do it more often. I do have a problem went after you quote me you assure that I believe something I never said.
You are accusing me of being a Pagan, you outright said it. You are making unsupportable claims about me and you want me to stop? Stop what Dana? Stop defending myself from your false accusations, stop proving time and time again that all you do is lie? You need to stop.
Yes, I deleted it because I was over the character limit in the debate description, so I decided to wait until they fixed the description box problem, or I would put it up on another site so people could read it in it's entirety.
Did you read it, I have a copy of exactly what I posted, and I never claimed the existence of anything supernatural or the existence of any gods. All you do is make assumptions and assertions, and when you fail to back them up you need to admit you were wrong or you are a liar.
Okay, if I am wrong show me. I consider statements about spiritual being to be religious. That is my belief. What you believe is up to you. It is between you yourself and you. I am not inclined to listen to you because you helped you know who call me a Satanist, and I have your comments saved, so I can look them up if need be. I love Jesus, and hate Satan. Satan can stick it up his asshole and so can anyone who thinks I am a Satanist. You should have seen Atrag drag this bullshit on my puppy poll and accuse me of sacrificing puppies to Satan. That was taking things too damn far. If you or him hate me that much, why do you speak to me. I have only told you one lie: I lied when I said that I hated you. I was just mad. This whole fucking day sucks. The whole world is going insane, so excuse me, but I am not in the mood for this. good day to you, and may God bless you.
Please define what you mean by spiritual. According to it's official definition, I never made any spiritual claims. Ruazenith, it's Avatars, and their Aligners only can affect material or physical things and cannot affect the human spirit or soul. I don't even believe humans have spirits or souls.
Spiritual is defined as: Of, relating to, or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.
Yeah Pascal's wager is a bit flawed though, seeing as it can only be applied to a single religion. I used to agree with it, but now I can see it's a little foolish.
If he does exist- you go to heaven. IF he doesn't, then no worries.
That seriously underplays the fact that if he doesn't exist, then you have wasted time and energy on a lie created thousands of years ago. Being a Christian is a commitment, that's important and should be taken into account in your argument.
Maybe, this can help you with your inner conflict. I found it, but don't recall where; yet, it resonated with me and I make no claim to be Christian.
-Old Protestant Hymn:
"Know this, that every soul is
free,
To choose his life
and what he'll be;
For this eternal truth
is given,
That God will force no
man to heaven.
"He'll call, persuade, direct
aright,
And bless with wisdom,
love, and light,
In nameless ways be good
and kind,
But never force the human
mind.

I stand firm that my beliefs, religious or spiritual, are my business between myself and my Creator. I cannot beat someone over the head for stating what they believe in; that would be wrong, evil, and I sure do not want the same done to me.
There are many distractions, illusions, and feel good notions out there; I have checked a few, but I have always carried a sense that God was with me. God does not forsake, but we do forsake God; that has been what I have discovered, for myself. I do not know if any of this will help you, but I hope it does. Perhaps asking God would be the best option; maybe you have done so already.
Anyway, all the best to you on the beginning of your quest.
I enjoy a challenge. I will argue for why you should be a Christian. First, do you believe "true christians" are defined more by what they profess to believe, or how they act towards other people in general?
Or do, it's none of my business. Look at the evidence, listen to opinions from all sides, choose what makes sense, don't let anyone tell you what to believe, don't believe in a comforting lie over an inconvenient truth, and try not to be an ignorant or arrogant dickhead. There, that's probably the best life advice I can ever give you.
Here, look up this book: Why There Is No God: Simple Responses to 20 Common Arguments for the Existence of God by Armin Navabi. Then look up a book on Christian apologetics and decide for your damn self. You don't owe me, or anyone, allegiance in faith on some shit that, ultimately, no one has all the answers to.
Bon voyage on your journey of self discovery. Don't ever stop questioning everything.
You should be a Christian to avoid Hellfire and live eternally in the shining glory of God. Just look at the trees and stuff, what are the odds of complex life arising from and explosion in space out of nothing before time even started?
Extremely satirical. Personally I think you should do what makes you happy to the extent that it doesn't disrupt someone else tying to do what makes them happy. If you actually believe in the Christian god, and that is what you want to believe then be a Christian.
I choose to live my life not by what I want to believe, but what I have reason to believe. It is just a different way of living, I never assume I have found absolute truth, rather I adapt my opinion as I am presented with evidence, not to what I want to believe, but to what the evidence leads to.
I don't believe in an afterlife, so the most moral answer I can give you is you should do what truly makes you happy, and if the happiest life for you would be that of a Christian, no one should fault you for choosing it.
