I once read that there was a time when Homosexuals were considered to have a Mental Illness. Why? I suppose they consider Homosexuality an unnatural act. Considering that unnatural is a sexual attraction against the norm, the opposite sex or species. If a Homosexual can't help who he is attracted to, I suppose a Pedophile couldn't as well or a person who engages in Bestiality. (This is not a promotion of either sexual behaviors.) So i suppose we should test on Homosexuals too?

Also, I'm not a troll so try not to get too emotional. If my words do not make logical sense, then just simply point out why.

There are certain people that are not worth their salt, so using them as test subjects is OK. Where have I heard that before ;)

I find this topic interesting.

Ok, lets throw away the moral implications for this argument, just for the sake of argument.

Here are several reason why testing on pedophiles isn't a good thing

1) Pedophiles tend to have mental illness, which could effect the outcome of the drugs.

2) Although there "seems" to be a lot of pedophiles in America, there aren't nearly enough to get rid of the need for animals in testing.

3) We specifically breed most of the animals used in testing in order to make sure they are "blank slates." We can not do the same with pedophiles.

4) Prior drug use (even legal drugs) can alter the effects of the designed drug.

5) There are far to many variable dealing with humans to show the actual effects of the drugs.

Pedophiles tend to have mental illness, which could effect the outcome of the drugs.

Apart from being paedophilic I never knew they had any other issues.

We can not do the same with pedophiles.

We could if we got some prostitutes....

Prior drug use (even legal drugs) can alter the effects of the designed drug.

Even once the drugs are out of the system?

There are far to many variable dealing with humans to show the actual effects of the drugs.

So a drug designed for humans is more accurately tested on animals than it is on humans?

In your number three you state that scientists breed animals to be blank slates for testing. And in your number five you state that there are too many variables in dealing with humans as subjects, but in fact these are reasons why we should test on pedophiles. If we test drugs on "blank slates" we don't know all the effects of the drug. No human is a black slate, so why should we test on blank slates. We need the vasriation in order to test more possible side effects.

Expand this to include those in jail, plenty of lab rats this way. This will never happen, some people believe pedophiles, murders, etc. are people too. They should have the same rights as their victims, no say in their fate.

They are people. To write them off as monsters is dismissing the fact that real conditions turn people into killers and criminals, and impedes the recognition and study of those conditions so they can be eliminated.

It certainly seems dispassionately pragmatic to put lifers and those on death row to 'good use'. However, I am not a supporter of torture, whether the victim is animal or human.

Use taxpayer money to house them for a crime and not get anything in return, sound like justice to me. Are they people or just a step below animals? The individual is responsible for their own actions not society, therefore it is not societies responsibilty to care for them. It is only the responsibilty of society to pick a punishment that fits the crime.

I understant the type of question but I will have to say no. Even though everyone hates them they still have their human rights (yeah I know it sucks) and we have to respect them. (Of course if it was just an emotional based answer, I would just say yes)

Side: test on prisoners

Pedophiles are humans and have rights the same as everyone else.

It is because of the terrible nature of their acts that they are treated as animals. Pedophiles have a mental illness and should be treated for that and kept in a facility where they will stay for the rest of their lives. Instead of going to prison where they will serve their sentence and be left out in to the world again, sexual feelings still intact.

Would you test on people that are down syndrome if they are convicted of murder or pedophilia, the answer is no because they are noticeably mentally deficient, they would be kept in a psychiatric facility.

Side: test on prisoners

Despite the transgression that pedophiles have committed, I would never condone the act of testing products on human beings even if they are mentally ill and have no real value to society.

Erm...and what if this supposed "pedophile" has been wrongfully convicted? Too bad, so sad, we execute involuntary volatile tests on a potentially innocent person as a form of punishment? And if the person is a pedophile and rightfully convicted, isn't jail the punishment?

This is the kind of thing dumb people advocate for because it makes them feel warm inside without thinking about the proposition full circle.

Here is a question why use a population that there is such a smaller amount of, mice and other creatures used in experiment are very standardized, and are much more available than pedophiles, I mean does anyone know how many pedophiles we have in prison?

Side: Don't test on prisoners

Joe, when are you going to learn that you're second. I'm number one now, buster!

---------

Yes, I agree. However, do not test on pedophiles. Only test on those with a death sentence - that way, if anything goes wrong, you've got less explaining to do.

Animals are more expendable, but doubtless some highly-remorseful criminals would see this as a way of paying back some type of 'debt to society'.

Side: Don't test on prisoners

Pedophiles are sick. it is not right to experiments on sane people or sick people.

Pedophiles aren't mentally ill they simply plea that they are in order to get a lower offense it is known that all pedophiles repeat the offense without any remorse . Children keep being victimized by those indivdual because or laws are screwed up prison time is not going to fix these pervs it makes them worse and they meet others like themselves who help eachother by providing information on how to get away next time or how to pick out victims .

I believe that rapists and pedophiles should be killed or used at test subjects for science their dna is the same as all human beings animals such as rabbits rats dogs and cats do not have the same dna structure so why keep torturing innocent harmless animals when we have a supply of monsters whom we can use instead and gain benificial information for science and help produce medications quicker for the population .

They know exactly what they do and did and will not hesitate to do it again why should society keep protecting these monsters? seriously ask yourself this would you leave your child alone with one of these monsters ? No you wouldn't so stop standing up for them !!!! They chose to hurt children so they should face a heavier punishment that way others will think before they act !

Society has to step up and take care of this trash by destroying it ! ( governement & prison officials can simply hide this from the public and no problem)
