I'd rather live with the inconveniences of too much liberty than the inconveniences of too little.

So do you consider your social security number and credit card information being leaked online an "inconvenience" of "too much liberty"?

Is security and privacy no longer an aspect of liberty?

In the past the US government funded and trained Al Qaeda without anyone knowing and the UK supported the Bedouins and the Saudi family during WWI and WWII and those two groups supported or were terrorists at that time and Saudi still supports terrorists .So when these things were done they Wikileaks is the hero as it reveals how certain governments support terrorism.

Side: Hero

The Yanks are sufficiently clever to ensure that only ''disinformation' leaks to this shabby site and it's disreputable publishers.

Along with the U.K., America's intelligence techniques is what has stopped numerous terrorist atrocities throughout Europe and undoubtedly the United States itself.

Could such a site exist in Russia, China, north Korea etc?

The site is not hosted in the USA. It couldn't exist there.

Wikileaks is not hosted, and likely could never be hosted, in the US.

The US would freeze its assets.

(Edit:I hit dispute instead of clarify)

While I think they could have served a valuable role in keeping governments in check, Wikileaks has shown a complete disregard for the health and safety of private citizens, and has consistently shown a pro-Russian bias.

I have to agree with IAmSparticus. Although I support the concept of getting the truth out when powerful people want to suppress it that doesn't mean there's a right to be careless and destructive about it.

How dare you agree with IamSpartacus.

The least you could have done was to agree with him in a disagreeable way.

This thread is meant to be an argument, not a forum for the mutual admiration society

Sounds like it's time for Wikileaks to hack and release our social security numbers, bank and credit card numbers, diaries, etc, in an effort to prove IAmSparticus and I are in cahoots.
