Will Capitalism End? Hello S: Nahhh.. If there's a better way to distribute products and services, I haven't heard about it. And, I pay attention to these things. Let's look at the Chinese.. 20 years ago most of 'em were living in mud huts and riding bicycles.. The leaders looked out and saw that. Being capitalists at heart, they made the big switch. And, today the Chines are living in nice condo's and driving Lexus's.. What system can replace THAT?? excon Side: Socialism Totally Wins
There’s no question that unbridled capitalism is over Hello again, S: To be clear, unbridled capitalism ended with the gilded age. Modern day capitalism is bridled in many respects, and it could use some more. Under our watch, millionaires became billionaires, and billionaires became trillionairs.. At the same time, the poor became poorer and poorer, as the divide between us grew wider and wider.. However, the state we find ourselves in was created by policy, and it can be reversed by policy.. Capitalism has nothing to do with that. excon Side: Socialism Totally Wins
The poor in the US today have HD TVs, cell phones and central heat and air. The poor in the past cut their own wood and had to kill their own food. Other than the homeless living on the streets of leftist cities, the poor are doing better. Were you talking just about those that the Democrats left on the streets to die? I feel it's too easy to identify the problems with the two opposing systems of economic and social ideologies without presenting a full and detailed viable alternative(s). We know that communism/socialism doesn't work. A free market economy, or capitalism rewards hard work, stimulates inventiveness, encourages innovation and promotes entrepreneurism. The stifling of enterprise the in economies of socialist countries leads to stagnation, poverty and the subjugation of the peasant population. Capitalism recognises the competitive nature of all life on earth and is designed to reward those who get off their backsides and push themselves to the limits of their ability in order to achieve their goals. In nature the lazy, weak and obtuse will starve and perish while the the fit and sharp minded will eat and prosper. Those species that follow the laws of nature will flourish and evolve superior traits thus increasing their chances of survival and improve their kind. In a caring society it is only but good and proper that those who are less capable of achieving success than others enjoy the same respect and rights of their high achieving brothers. Hi there Salvedevice. As an ardent believer in the free-market, or capitalism, ( as China does for instance) system of economic structure I guess what I'm saying is that it is possible to succeed in the rat race without being a rat. Those who leave the comfort zone to pursue their ambitions in the dog-eat-dog world of commercial enterprise will invariably acquire more wealth than other, more orthodox members of society. In the procurement of their relative riches they also generate wealth within the society where their enterprises exist. The taxes generated from a free market along with the inventiveness and innovation it fosters will provide the revenue to support social services such as free or financially aided health care, affordable public transport and a safety net for those who have temporarily fallen on hard times. THE DANGER IS THAT MANY, TOO MANY TURN THE SOCIAL SAFETY NET INTO A HAMMOCK WHERE THEY LANGUISH FOR MOST OF THEIR IDLE LIVES. A stagnant, SO CALLED socialist economy will not produce the wherewithal to finance the social services we have all come to expect in the free markets of the western democracies.
