Will Zombies exist sometime in the Future?
I have been assigned a project at school about Zombies, there is a lot of arguing on whether we humans will be affected by a disease that will cause zombie like mutations someday. Do you agree or disagree, we would like to hear your thoughts (: Thank You

Well, you have to have a fairly open definition of zombie, but zombie-like occurrences are possible: http://www.cracked.com/article156435-scientific-reasons-zombie-apocalypse- Side: Yes Definitely
It would have to be a definition that avoids anything along the line of "a substance or microorganism that reanimates the dead". I think reanimating the dead is a logical possibility, even a scientific possibility, but I don't think it's practically possible. Side: Yes Definitely
The description of a "zombie" is basically just a mindless being, and I believe our world is already full of them. However if you're looking at the traditional zombie definition, meaning a flesh/brain eating diseased and undead human, then it's still possible. Brain diseases are discovered everyday who's to say that sometime that a disease closely resembling the zombie disease won't come about. Also, with how much medicines and drugs are being created, I'm sure zombies will eventually be produced out of something like that. After all that was how zombies came about in I Am Legend and there was that dude in Florida about a year ago with the bath salts Side: Yes Definitely

Really? I remember when vampires begun to get popular, just about everyone asks the same question. But please remember that our perception of fictional creatures especially one that grows in complexity over time has its humble beginnings and I assure you they do not in any way resemble its true form. So are zombies. They spawn from african black magick rituals and Hollywood always have the knack of bringing the mundane.. back to life by reusing the whole 'failed experiment' premise. Effective but OLD. Parasites and virus add some good touch to it which seems to make everything much more believable. And by the way, before asking if such condition can befall mankind, you need to question if it can happen to animals first. Side: Never Gonna Happen

My question is how long can a single zombie spread a virus. Viruses reproduce by hijacking living cells: think of them as Facehuggers from "Aliens." Dead tissue can't make more viruses and the virus itself probably doesn't have a protective protein coat to keep it from falling apart in the air. After the zombie passed off the infected saliva in its mouth to the first victim or two, it shouldn't be infectious anymore. Side: Never Gonna Happen
