Absolutely, but I hope that the war on machines will begin sometime after my death. I don't think I can handle a "Terminator"-esque battlefront. But in all seriousness, the technology we have today was unimaginable 50 years ago--and, in some cases, just 10 years ago. There's no reason to doubt the abilities of future machines. I'm confident that machines will outstrip life. Side: yes
it is not the matter of giving life, deepishm the matter is who is the best. Even in human generations, it is a well known fact that there is generation gap between parent and child. similarly, we are creating something much capable than ourselves. in fact, we should be proud to be their creators! The present day computers are much more advanced than the human brain. the only flaw that a computer faces is that it has 0 iq and it cannot take decisins on its own. to over come this, the scientists are working on AI-artificial Intelligence-which can take its own decisions and is more successful than a super computer! I do not think that a computer can exceed the human brain in terms of recognition of voice and recognition of faces. A human brain remembers many things without trying very hard. In other words, Human minds can remember pictures, while a computer can only remember phrases about pictures (if you tell it to look at a picture and then try to find that same picture among thousands of others, it would take hours of programming, and the computer would probably guess wrong, because many of the pictures would probably have the same traits as the one that the computer had ‘looked at’) The person however would have a picture in thier mind that they could match it to. A computer, without a doubt would never be able to exceed the human brain in EVERY aspect. Sure, a computer can compute far beyond our ability, but we programmed it didn't we? A computer only does what's it's programmed to and that it's is only purpose. Consider the famous Descartes line: "Cognito ergo sum" or "I think, therefore I am". Will a computer have any other purpose other than it's previous programming, will a piece of programming have self, purpose and emotion. If reincarnation were possible, could I be reborn as something made by IBM? The answer, unsurprisingly, is a resounding no, therefore, computers will never exceed us. Side: No
