Will do the human race survive another 2000 years?

Will we as a race live to see the year 4000 AD (assuming we don't all die on 21/12/2012 or 12/21/2012 if you're american)

Yes, the human race will survive another 2000 years, but America will collapse long before that.

I sure do hope that we continue to exist as a species. I'm putting all my money into deeds for property on Saturn.

Kidding aside, I think that if we have come along this far after so many years, what's another 2000? I'm prepared to live life one day at a time, always knowing that everything could be taken away from me, yet always content that I am able and fine right now. This is all that really matters.

Human race sure has ditched itself, stupidly confused the environment and landed in a situation where either we give up our most basic need and love the nature worthy of it or we just simply live this way and Die. But, this race has owed to itself several survival times. So many civilizations have died and lived.

Even though I believe that there are a very few chances of us surviving currently, I'm pretty sure We'll make it.

We have survived more than 2,000,000 years. We can survive another 2,000. Modern technology doesn't change anything, excepted making it harder for anything to kill us.

Not at the rate we're going, humanity is very selfish and the western world is now taught that this is OK because they've "earned" it, if you made millions of dollars through unfair methods that probably ruined the lives of hundreds of people, that's OK because you "earned" it.

Another thing, transport-before people walked everywhere simply because they had no other choice, now with the invention of cars many people buy them not as a way of getting from A to B but as a status symbol. Even when they are told that these machines are destroying the planet they live on, they say it's OK because the "earned" their cars.

Unlike walking or cycling cars make humans lazier and unfit, in fact I dare to say that the human race is de-evolving from the past.

For example: before all travelers had to use maps and work out where they are, where they're going and how to get there, this brought around lots of technology and made the simple human walker more intelligent and logical.

In the present day cars are fitted with satellite navigation systems, now we can just push a few buttons (not even that in some models, all you got to do is say what you want) and your car tells you what to do, it's as though we can't think for ourselves and need a machine to do it.

Devolution into Elois & Morlocks? Before farming civilization and specialization of religion, skills etal - before the elite and commonors - human had evolution.

Now with such class separation & extreme Gini index - it's going to be 6 fingered, mayonnaise white blue-bloods versus a sinewy armed, calloused hands urban underclass.

It looks bleak with the arsenal of nuclear weapons in the world.
