Will scientist someday discover the gene responsible for liberalism and turn it off
We have the Democrats fighting among themselves
while scientists are finally realizing:
how so few genes can create an organism as complex as a human being. The answer is that regulation - turning genes on and off at different times in different types of cells, adjusting a gene's output and coordinating its activities with other genes - is where the action is.
Now...,
If only we could turn off the gene responsible for liberalism...
Jeez.., I hope so.., and soon

Hopefully not. And I'm pretty sure that genes have little influence in determining our positions on politics and such. I was under the impression that one's position on political issues depended on research, friends and family, the way you were raised as a child, etc. Basically, external influences play the major role in determining which side you pick. Genes play a minor role. If I were forced to pick between liberalism or conservatism, I would without hesitation select liberalism. Assuming it is possible to deactivate liberalism, it would by definition therefore be possible to deactivate conservatism as well. Just saying. Side: Wait..., what? No!!!
