As much as nations say they only have nuclear weapons for protection, I think that they will eventually get into such a bad conflict where one side feels it necessary to use nuclear weapons against the other side. Either that or they may be a weapon malfunction, where a nuke is sent to another nation inadvertently and suddenly other nations send theirs out too. Since nuclear weapons exist in the world, I can't see them sitting in the ground for eternity. The only way I could understand them not being used is if they were sent to another planet to blow up there or sunk to the bottom of the ocean or something like that so that we can't get at them.

There could be since many countries have the capability and none of them should be trusted with the button that would wreak nuclear holocaust on this planet. I would love to see nuclear disarmament around the world and by doing so, it would negate the terrible consequences of such an action.

I think nuclear war is imminent. It is impossible to know for sure when it will be, but I'd wager the third World War will be a nuclear one, and it will come within the next thirty or so years. There's no getting around it. With the violence that already exists in the world, and all the technology, money and effort being put into this whole "war" thing, there isn't any way we can stop a nuclear war unless we all just come together as one huge government. I am aware that I continually harp on this point, but it is really the only way that we can prevent the annihilation of the human race, and let the whales take over. :P

I want to believe that we can continue the current policies and laws that we have regarding nuclear war. We can't afford to have another nuclear war anytime soon. Sure there are other countries that still allow some nuclear and I think that it should be stopped. History taught us that there could be couple million lives will be lost if this could happen.

Nuclear War is inevitable. It's a shame that humanity will destroy the world.
