World Ruler
who rules the world,
god and their religulous belief, or science and its technology?

Actually, it's neither. The world is run by a small group of unbelievably wealthy people. It's easy to sit out in suburbia and see houses that look just like our own and see people who drive cars just like our own and think "oh, well we're all pretty well equal." Well, we're not. The U.N. reports that 480 people own over 80% of the world's assets. Who are these people? People like Warren Buffet, Bil Gates. There are people out there who can spend $1 Billion the way the rest of us spend $1,000. These people can pick up the phone and make things happen. And they do. 1

People always shrug it off with talk of the Illuminati and some horse shit like that. But really... Think about it for a second. You're worth a hundred billion. Are you really going to take a hit to your networth and risk losing a chunk of it because some jackass just got elected. When you're worth a hundred billion dollars, congressman will take your phone calls. They will take your phone calls in the middle of the night. AND they need to be reelected. I'm not talking about conspiracy theories or anything like that. But you're kind of naive if you don't think that money talks. The God of Science and Technology, of course! Really, the options you provide are not really the best. God would pretty much be the ruler, but only if he truly exists and makes it a point to actually rule. And science and technology are just things. They don't rule, they just exist. 1

Science can be powerful and unforgiving but science cannot control the weather. If we were to personify science with a guy named Phil, we could pray to Phil thusly, "Oh Phil..., please don't make us radio active and glow in the dark... And please don't jettison us out into space... Or make our genetic engineering experiments result in whacked births..." etc. But..., and this is a BIG butt..., if Phil got hit by lightning, we would have to conclude, "There's something bigger than Phil..." ;) |
