This is true. Knowledge implies familiarity with the subject [1]. Simply being aware of plate tectonics and special relativity doesn't mean one has any real familiarity with either. At best, we can say we know what we don't know. The ancient Greeks didn't know special relativity was a thing, so they didn't know that they didn't know it. Your average American has heard of special relativity, but doesn't know a damn thing about it. We know what we don't know. Our only real advantage over the Ancient Greeks is that there are at least a few of us who do have some knowledge of these things. As it is, the greatness of a society comes not from its individual members, but from the select few who venture to crawl up the mountain of knowledge, with the whole of society harnessed to their backs. I would not say that the Greeks had equivalent knowledge to modern society. With the Internet, we have assembled the largest database of information in history. On another note, it is fascinating how many parallels can be drawn between Modern Western society and Ancient Greek Society. I hope a collapse is not near. Side: No
