Would it be okay to have a debate about someone?

This would be a perspective debate about soneone here on createdebate.

Certainly, in fact when I first arrived on this site there was a debate about two such individuals sitting at the very top of the debate list. There's no reason why a perspectives debate centered around an individual wouldn't be successful, especially if you picked one of the more contentious people to discuss. I advise getting that person's consent first, though.

Have your fun. Why worry what anyone else thinks about your debates?

Not worried about what anybody thinks of me, just wanted to know the general view of opening of a can of worms.

Side: yes

I've had debates about me all the time. I always end up arguing with myself.

Just think of it as an intervention. So who are we gonna bash :)

Side: yes

Bash! Who said anything about bashing? Okay, you got me. Bashing was my intention and still is. The fun were going to have. Can't wait 'til it's my turn. The memories will last minutes, maybe seconds.

Side: yes

Kinda vs Terminator, coming to a debate near you. This wasn't the one I had in mind, but is probably more amusing than any I could create.

Side: yes

To have a public debate "About" a living person would create the potential for a legal liability, that would stifle the debate.

Giving opinions about real people over the internet on a debate website, whom you interact with only on a debate website is probably one of the most innaccurate ways of forming and opinion.

Example: Dacey's opinion of Kinda would be the near exact opposite of mine.

What is known is all that can be perceived about someone. Whether a prick on the Internet and not one in real life is unimportant. The debate is over the character in which one plays on-line and only on-line. If they are the same person on-line and for real and they don't like the outcome of the debate, they should therefore work to improve him/herself.

Bottom line is; if you don't like how others see you, than do something about it. If you refuse to change, then be contempt how others see you. This may not be a bad thing, in fact it may shed some light on those too stupid to see how others perceive them.
