CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.
To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
Pagans are much more apt to take care of the earth as it is an earth based religion. Too many take the earth for granted, but they don't. They realize that it is what supplies us with our food and clean air among many other things.
Neo-paganism posses a remarkably different character than the majority of other faiths.
It is much less authoritarian, provides coping skills, is itself diverse, etc.
Embedding its typical non-authoritarian approach, creative spirit, respect for diversity, general care for the earth and nature, etc into society could result in several benefits over what other faiths would embed.
If everyone in the world agreed on one topic in general, then of course it would be a better place. Unfortunately, we'll never reach a point in which everyone holds at least 1 thing in common no matter what.
Then the world would be even more boring then it already is, if you want to have someone agree with your opinion all the time then talk to yourself outloud all day (which i'm not so sure you dont already do).
Being bored is a choice. Conflict isn't boring, but it's conflict. Conflict incites negative emotions and even violence. The world doesn't need conflict to be not-boring. Go out and make some love. That's probably the most fun activity ever, and it's totally based upon cooperation, not conflict.
If everyone was a single religion, we'd all at least be able to cooperate on something as opposed to being divided on almost everything.
Religion is the most minor thing that needs to be shared, it wouldn't change shit. Other christians are judgemental to each other, the church is pretty damn divided in and of itself, and i'm not so sure that other religions aren't the same. I think what should be agreed upon is a resonable set of morals that everyone would follow.
Religion is minor and a scew in logic, yes. But most world religion is nothing like Christianity and Catholicism. It is a general fact of history that non-monotheistic religion has been less violent then then polytheistic religion. Though, this is not the point. Humans are divided on many axises already, one being religion and religious sects. There are no sects of Paganism. There are no specific gods of Paganism. Paganism is a religious idea derived from a huge amount of polytheistic mythologies from around the world. If you're Pagan, you're Pagan, and nothing else. Not this church or this sect or this train of thought. You are just Pagan. If everyone on the face of the Earth had a single shared religion, then everyone on the face of the Earth would hold at least one thing in common. Having one thing in common with every man to ever live inspires empathy. Just because religion is illogical doesn't mean it doesn't do good or inspire empathy. People kill and murder and persecute each other because they have different religions and religious sects. Under a religion like Paganism, everyone would share their religion with everyone else. Therefore, people would be slightly more uniform, and the fabric of human moral would be judged on character and not regional-based religion.
You are ridiculous, i don't care if your offended by me having an opinion, and all that unnecessary name calling in all of your disputes shows how mundane you truly are. It also shows who is the true asshole grow the fuck up, dispute when you disagree with me, but you're the only son of a bitch calling people names. I find it funny as hell, really, but it is also pitiful as hell.
I called you 2 names in the last comment. Also, I started calling you names because you called me names first, which is why I started calling some names myself. Were the names 'twat' and 'cunt' too much for you? Daaaaw, I'm sowwy. Do you need your binky?
Listen, fag, don't start a game you can't win. If you want to call someone names and give a shitty argument, then prepare for someone to call you names and give a MUCH better argument, asshole. Call me a son of a bitch all you want, but you instigated the event of namecalling. If you can't handle my long arguments or names I can call you, then stop arguing. Don't be a big baby and start rolling around crying.
Now, gonna give a good argument against my last argument? I doubt it. Pussy,
first of all i didnt waste any of my time reading another of your bullshit disputes and can you please relay to me the instance in when i called you a name?
I can assure you im not crying, in fact im laughing at you because you seem to have your panties in a twist. In all the other debates i dont seem to see anyone else resorting to such juvenile behavior. You sound stupid.
I looked over our comment tree, and I found that no, you did not call the names first. You did, on the other hand, act like a complete asshole with your first comment, instigating the fight in the first place.
If you find my behavior juvenile, then the fact that you resort to douche-baggery in your first reply to someone says a lot about you, doesn't it?
I apologize i can be an overly-sarcastic bitch, but its been taken to far im sick of your comments constantly being basically the only on appearing on my page. its done.
I personally don't don't like pagans. However, I would be kind to them for the bible says to love your enemies- and I don't mean that in a homosexual way. I'll just obey the Word of God and God Himself- even if they're the same thing. "...and the word was God." -John 1:1
The minimum length for an argument is 50 characters. The purpose of this restriction is to cut down on the amount of dumb jokes, so we can keep the quality of debate and discourse as high as possible.
