Being immortal would suck. Eventually you will have done everything there is to do, then the boredom would set in. Plus you have to consider that you would need to financially support yourself forever, so no retirement EVER. You would also have to watch all of your loved ones die. If I was the richest person on the planet I could make a huge difference in the world by funding medical advancements and humanitarian efforts. Plus I can do a lot of fun stuff with it. It's not the years in your life that matter, it's the life in your years. Side: Richest person
Being rich you can do much, much good and live a normal happy life. Besides, after a few hundred years, life would really suck. A few thousand years, Jesus, how horrible. A million years, this is, if you don't age, I would so want to die. And when the end of the planet comes? The world is eaten up? And you're still alive, burnt and with no oxygen? An eternal hell! Jesus, I would welcome hell compared to that. So it's either that, or money. Pretty simple, I can give billions to charities end wars, and have a pretty cool life myself, buy a large island and form my own government. And I would own a Delorean. Side: Richest person

I think Immortality sounds really appealing at first, but when you really think about it you might not want to choose it. Living forever would suck because you would see all of your family members die. Also you would constantly be meeting people and constantly seeing them die. TOO MANY FUNERALS. I would love to live a normal sized life and be very wealthy. Side: Richest person

Being the richest person would be supreme simply because living forever would just get boring. Imagine how times you get bored being mortal. Besides if I was the richest person in the world, and I knew someone was immortal, I would hunt them down and destroy them. Side: Richest person

The question with immortality is, are you aging at the same pace that a normal human ages? If so, to be immortal would be to live forever. Now, there are some diseases that do not cause death, would you be susceptible to those? Or would you be exempt from dying in general, if this was the case, then you could be hooked up to an IV tube and doctors room for your entire "life" because there is no natural end for you. In saying that, i would love to see the world 200 years from now, to see how we have evolved or to see whether we have colonised the moon. However, that being said, you cannot create lifelong commitments. You will have watch your family, spouse, children, friends and every other person in the world aside from you die at one point. So, as much i like the idea of prolonged existence, i like the idea of an 'end' much more. Plus, endless money = endless possibilities! The moon, here i come. Side: Richest person

Can we think this through? Immortality has nothing to do with cellular regeneration. If you get your leg cut off, its cut off for good. Turn into a vegetable? Have fun never being able to die. Coma? Not even pulling the plug can save you. Buried alive? Burned alive? Submerged in water? The pain with never end and you'll be miserable for all eternity. All loved ones will die right before your eyes. You'll eventually find nothing and no one attractive because you did not grow up with certain concepts and they'll seem so foreign to your immortal brain that you'll probably end up a hermit. That's another thing. You'll hate everything because you eventually won't be able to adapt to the new world. Forever an old timer never understanding anyone. Don't forget the boredum. You'll eventually end up with a hatred of humanity and will end up trying to destroy it. Good luck, slugger. I'll be here with my riches, donating to charities and random people on the street and buying things I want. You're gonna have to work long and hard. And I do mean long. Side: Richest person

I would rather be immortal. Money truly has no value and I could teach people a thing or two. If I stayed this age forever. I probably would be indestructible as well so I cant be destroyed by anything. I would try to make the world a better place by being some sort of superhero although I would have any powers. I could still make money if necessary by getting a job. Having the most amount of money in the world will make a lot of people envy you and they may try to steal from you. Side: Immortal
Obviously immortality. If I'm immortal, I don't need to eat, thus I don't need to sustain myself through work. If I'm immortal, I can lay the foundations for a conspiracy that will enrich me beyond the wildest dreams of the most wealthiest man alive, sometime down the road, like a century or two. If I'm immortal, I can play all the games I could possibly desire and then all the new ones that came out during that time. If I'm immortal, and I've secured my fortune through conspiracy I laid down a century or so ago, I can spend my fortune to do anything, or build anything, or shape society to my pleasing. if I'm immortal, I can read every interesting book ever written, and then all the ones that were written while I was occupied reading the others. If I'm immortal, I can travel the stars and visit all the planets without needing to worry about time and distance. If I'm immortal, I can spend my days lazing in paradise, that is, in nature, doing whatsoever pleases my fancy at the time. If I'm immortal, I can acquire infinite knowledge and become, eventually, a god. Side: Immortal
