Would you consider giving up your cell phone if it was good for the planet?

I don't use (nor do I like) cell phones (or the people who use them, especially while driving). Therefore I would want the government to force people to give up their cell phones.... for the sake of the bees (and, indirectly, for all of our sake.... but especially.... for my sake ;). good for the planet like giving up cars, airplanes, and cows? (especially cows). nope. The planet will be alright. I mean, if people want to limit their lives by a shit load just to make an unnoticeable difference, go ahead. I'll stick to what's convenient and cheap (which is sometimes green). Are you fucking crazy? I'm so depenent on my iphone I couldn't find to grocery store without my map app. I wouldn't know when my period is about the happen, I wouldn't know when to be at work, or be able to do my job well.... And as a blonde, my iphone does a great job at reminding me to breath. I might die without it.... Side: Are you freaking crazy

Only if I could get a new one, because my Nokia has a cracked screen and the battery hatch keeps falling off. (; But seriously, I'm with what thepyg said. I'm not completely dependent on my phone and always on it like some of these kids, but I'm not willing to make a sacrifice I don't need to make. Unless they made a really cool "green" phone. But chances are it wouldn't be cool. Kinda like those shoe box cars that raise your chance of dying. ]: Side: Are you freaking crazy

"Those "shoe box cars" are safe enough." Not enough for me. And if I'm going to make an inconvenience like upping my chances of death, I at least want the car to look cool. (; "Did I ever tell my "I got backed into by a hummer who couldn't see my car" story?" Nope. Side: Are you freaking crazy
I'm a freshman in college and I need my cell phone to find my friends for meals, call home and have home call me, call taxis to take my to the train station, call my mom to let her know I'm at the train station, etc. There's no way I could live using payphones (which are rarer and rarer nowadays) or my room phone (which I can barely hear out of).
