Hello jugs:

It's counterintuitive, but in the 50's, the middle class grew at an astounding pace, WHILE we were experiencing the highest tax rates in history..

Dude!

Which wasn't the effective rate. Almost everyone was paying similar to today. This is liberal revisionism based on ommission of the effective rate.

I would gladly pay more taxes, I just need to get my money's worth! Good, cheap health care, affordable education, infrastructure, clean air and water, reasonable drug prices, (the necessary kind, of course). That's what we SHOULD get from a government of, by, and FOR the people. That's what we HAD in the 50's that slowly deteriorated with tax breaks for those that got rich DURING the 50's, and 60's, and 70's. More and more rich, less and less taxes … for THEM. Which brings U.S. to Trumpism ………..

Some do, but that doesn't fix the system.

Trump is adding more than a trillion dollars a year to the debt - even Warren Buffet can't pay that off.

Something conservatives used to at least pretend to care about.

Hello Ben:

You suggest that if Warren Buffet wants higher taxes, he should PAY higher taxes.. But, he IS giving away his fortune. Materially, it's the same thing.. He's just giving it to WHO he wants to have it..

Exactly.

I have written about this at some length in the past, perhaps I will dig up an old post and paste it here.
