If you actually understood the messages in the Bible, then those types of comments would not be said.

The entire concept of Satan and hell was introduced into the Bible through Old Testament. The Jews often considered both Satan and hell to be metaphors... So, how is it that Christians came to interpret those metaphors as literal things? Is it because ancient polytheistic Greeks and Romans thought of the underworld to be ruled by Hades? Is it not strange that a term coined by non-Christians became one of the words for the Christian hell? Do you not realize that when Rome converted to Christianity, many of those converts believed in multiple gods, one of which was the ruler of the underworld?

You will find passages in which Satan seems to be regarded as a literal being, but what makes you think those passages were there from the start? They were likely added many years later.

I tried telling you this before, and you didn't respond, so I'll try again... Adam can be viewed as a symbol for mind, Eve a symbol for sense perception and the serpent (Satan) a symbol for pleasure. The Garden of Eden represents virtue. The combination of mind and sense perception led to pleasure which ended up leading to the loss of virtue. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was called the Tree of Knowledge of Everything in the ancient Hebrew translation. Consuming the forbidden fruit led to the introduction of the ego and materialism. That is an illusion. There is only one thing, and if you want me to explain to you how that is, I'd be happy to. Anyways, that is why Adam and Eve realized that they were naked after they ate the fruit.

Satan trying to tempt Jesus is symbolic of that little voice in his head (and everyone's) trying to tempt him into indulging in certain pleasures. Hell is the state of ungodliness, and to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, also called the Kingdom of God, you must realize your true spiritual self. The ego and materialism is a fire that consumes the soul and leads you away from your true self.

Matthew 19:24 "And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Entering the Kingdom of God has been referred to as several different names, one of which is enlightenment. It is when you do some real soul searching and come to realize that everything is one. You discover your true identity.

Luke 17:21 "nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

You may think that because Satan is given a gender in the Bible, then he must be an actual being. So, how about James 1:4 "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." He refers to patience as a woman... So, do you believe that patience is a literal female? How about wisdom? Proverbs 1:20 "Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets," is wisdom a literal being? No! That is how the ancient people taught their messages. They used metaphors. Patience is a woman, wisdom is a woman, and pleasure is a man... Satan, but they aren't actual beings. Do you know that "hell fire" in Aramaic translates to mental suffering?

I hope you read this, I really do... Although, it may have been better for me to have taken the Bible's advice: Proverbs 23:9 "Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words."
