anime is more entertaining and more complex than cartoons are usually. and anime is usually more realistic than cartoons. anime is like science fiction, modern and fantasy and cartoons are like talking animals which is personification not realistic and the animals have the ability to be really violent and feel pain but not die, and do nothing besides violence like in the tom and jerry cartoons which probably isn't good to watch too much since its so violent and nonsense making people stupider and more prone to violence. Anime is amazing the thought of being sent through a journey and the hardship and love and trust the pain and faith pulling you in and never letting go the animations and the story witch is all better than normal animation and it doesn't act like none of the stuff was there unlike other shows that's why anime is so much better than animation and cartoon's that's my point Side: anime

Anime has many good lessons! Taking an example like One Piece, Oda can make you cry by burning a pirate ship and learn a special friendship from that sense where cartoon may cannot do! Some sports anime like Yuri On Ice truly bring Ice Skating back to the stage! Many young people are watching Ice Skating of Japan and Russian again! Anime really pushes up Game Industries by their characters and comic related like Pokemon Go, Final Fantasy, One Piece game,... So I can say in my perspective, anime is better than cartoon! Actually I like both but it really depends on your definition of anime. If you go with just the basic Made in Japan by a Japanese artist, then it depends on the anime. I would classify Avatar the Last Airbender as a cartoon and it was pretty kick ass. Same with the original Teen Titans (not Teen Titans Go), and some of the early cartoons like Animaniacs, Batman (where the original character Harley Quinn was first introduced), Superman and so on. There are plenty of amazing anime's out there as well but for me it's pretty 50/50. Side: cartoons

I actually don't mind both (even though I watch Cartoons a lot more than Anime). In my opinion, it's not about Anime being better than Cartoons or Cartoons being better than Anime. It just depends on the show itself (regardless of it being an Anime, Cartoon, both, or neither). If that show is good, it's good. If the show is bad, then it's bad. Both have very good ones but also very bad ones. Side: cartoons
