We atheists believe in using our time here on Earth to contribute positively towards the welfare and advancement of mankind as well as the preservation of our fragile planet for future generations.

We view with contempt the cowardly and wasteful practice of loitering around so called places of worship, singing hymns and paying homage to a mythical omnipotent, but not so benevolent Creator while waiting to pass on to some sort of heavenly El Dorado where we can drink copious amounts of wine and have sweet grapes popped into our mouths by winged divine beings.

We atheists believe in using our time here on Earth to contribute positively towards the welfare and advancement of mankind as well as the preservation of our fragile planet for future generations.

Yet, with all that pride, such people have only contributed negatively towards the welfare and advancement of mankind as well as the preservation of our fragile planet for future generations.

Open your eyes and tell me how the world, its people and earth have been better than they were before people like you decided to contribute?

People like you spoiled it in a blink of an eye. Oh yes, people like you outperformed humanity in one only thing: in the amount of time it took to spoil it all: you spoiled people and earth altogether in 2 centuries only! Out of hundreds of millions years! Well played.

Future generations: I dont know if you are being sarcastic. Do you study what researchers say? Or are you a boomer still stuck in his destructive and selfish mindset thinking the world revolves around him: why care for tomorrow, money and power is all that matter! Since he wont be there, let's binge it all!

Scientists say: the kids born now wont die old. We are not even sure if they'll make it as adult.

Well played. Thank you for your contribution.

We view with contempt

Why should anyone view others with contempt unless himself deserves that same contempt?

the cowardly and wasteful practice of loitering around so called places of worship

The weirdest argument I have read so far.

Can you send us a picture of you cleaning out worship places?

singing hymns and paying homage to a mythical omnipotent

In this ideal world of yours for which you take pride, cant people be allowed to pay hommage to an omnipotent being without deserving the contempt of those like you who worship money and power?

Or, isnt it a freedom allowed in the world you gargle to have contributed to?

but not so benevolent Creator

the mere fact that people like you exist is a sign of a Creator's benevolence :)

while waiting to pass on to some sort of heavenly El Dorado

Yet, people like you have replicated that same idea.

Isnt it people like you who oblige us to pass tests to deserve a benefit/right?

For example:

Pass SATs to apply for college

Pass driving test to drive

Pass a college degree to access some jobs

Pass a PhD to be called a doctor

Pass the bar to be a lawyer

Pass qualifications to play championships

and so on.

If one doesnt pass, he is not entitled to access the medical/legal/graduate/competition world.

Should we see such rules with contempt? Nope.

Or else, do you want middle school drop outs to be entitled to PhD degrees?

Hence, humans themselves have deemed it reasonable and fair to offer a benefit only to those who have deserved it.

How did they deserve it?

Through the dedication of their minds, money, energy and time.

Just like in theism.

You may choose to abide by it or not, just like a HS drop out may refuse to pass SATs to access college. Yet, that doesnt give him the right to despise those who decide to pass the tests.

The problem with this side is that, you can never find a God when you need one.

My opinion is that anyone who believes in the existence of any of the popular, made made faux Gods should never be trusted in a position of responsibility.

The problem with this side is that, you can never find a God when you need one.

Yet, one can tell you once did call for God.

Did you call for Him with a RSVP request? Did you get angry because it took too long for an answer or that He didnt drop the miracle you ordered Him?

Is this why you are angry at Him and at His people?

People believe that ordering God to fix a problem the way they want it to be solved obliges Him.

Yet, most problems come from men themselves: relational problems, exploitation, violence, theft, murder etc

Misery and injustice come from men, not from a god. Why should anyone else fix mankind's problems other than itself?

As per fateful events, these will all touch us, one way or the other. Death, disease, calamity etc. Yet, if one is truthful enough and thinks back to some fateful event in his life, he will acknowledge that such event triggered a change in life, which most of the time, will end up positively.

For example, after a death, one decides to quit an unsatisfying job, or to get out of an unhappy marriage, or to fulfill a dream etc

After a serious disease, one may change his way of living/diet, get closer to his family, his spirituality etc

See, even such dreadful moments have a purpose. The purpose to get us back to what is deeply important to us, as a human: family, community, spirituality etc

Never have I seen someone realize: hey, I almost died so I decide to dedicate my life to becoming rich and powerful....

My opinion is that anyone who believes in the existence of any of the popular, made made faux Gods should never be trusted in a position of responsibility.

would you care to elaborate on the why?

Most of the time, such people are much more trustful than others.

But I grant you one thing: to attain such a position of responsibility requires to make decision despite ones values, just for the sake of power and money.

Most of those people will end up refusing it in the long run.

For example, I opposed my board when it asked me to fire hard working and competent people simply because they didnt fit with the subjective requirements. Or to freeze salary when the company was making so much money that investors were fighting to get in. And shareholders got a thousand times what they invested in. Money was pouring in thanks to the hardworking employees. Certainly not thanks to the mostly-incompetent top Directors.

If indeed you did hold such high positions, you will acknowledge that if indeed there are competent people within a company, they mostly are found within employee level or average managers. The higher up, the least competent: it mostly revolves around corporate politics, not skills nor vision.

I was threatened for my job yet it didnt cross my mind to injustly fire those people.

I didnt and didnt lose my job.

I was asked to be more political to get a board position; I refused to prostitute myself, my values and my principles.

Because most think like you do, I indeed was not trusted with top responsibilities despite my proven track records and skills and the Directors acknowledgments.

Yet, I have no regrets for it. I love my life and who I am.

My values are priceless, much more than a job or a relationship.

I own the little I own out of my own honest hard work, for which no human and no values have been sacrificed on the altar of money or power.

One isnt what he says he is, he is what he does.
