church officials have right to tell people their evil by voting for obama?

I thin that Church's should have that right (freedom of speech and all), but, if they do express political views their tax exemption status should be taken away.

Is this about that church that asked it's congregation to not take communion if they voted for Obama?

This is the first I've heard of Obama being called the Anti-christ. Guess it was just a matter of time.

Let's see, the Catholic church started the Crusades, tortured people until they "accepted god," burned "witches," raped little boys and covered it up, then paid people to shut up about little boys being raped...

Yeah, Obama, he's the bad guy.

The continued ignorance, hypocricy, and evil of organized religion aside, andsoccer brought up a good point.

If religion wants to be in the game of politics, which it obviously has been since the beginning of religion in spite of the bible being clear, "give unto ceasar what is ceasar's, give unto god what is god's," then they should pay taxes.

I mean, they make a profit, have a payroll. They don't charge their congregation necessarily (though they do for things like weekend getaways, where evangelists lock a bunch of kids in a hotel, don't let them sleep, and continually manipulate them with constant religious blather - I know, I've been to one) but like, if I'm a waitress, I need to claim a percent of my tips. What's the difference between tips and putting a buck in the collection plate? As for charity, that's a right-off anyway.

Anyone else think religions should pay taxes? Now would be a good time, the U.S. is hurting for income.

Church's that say that stuff are mostly Catholic and they burned people at the stake so they cant talk.As for other Church's there just raciest and if you go to one that is raciest then doesn't that make you evil because according to the bible thought shall not judge less you be judged.

Now how would you know that? Are YOU Catholic? So you've dismissed the Catholics. Then you've dismissed the rest because they are racist! Then you have the unmitigated gall to quote, incorrectly of course, one of the finest lines ever written and taken from the Bible. I think you need a screwdriver.

No church official has the right to tell anyone they are evil for doing anything!

why would churches believe that Obama is the anti-christ ?

i mean, i understand that church officials would speak for proposition 8 because of the christian belief of sacramental marriage and all, but i don't see a reason for why obama should be considered an anti-christ.

If the bible is true, they should do everything according to plan. Vote for the anti-christ, bring about the end of the world. Show ourselves that we are not fit to rule ourselves, that's the point, right?

Church officials that speak out against putting the anti-christ in power are resisting god's lesson by trying to show it that humanity is more powerful or reliable than it knows we are.

That's the answer that comes to mind if I am playing by the rules of religion.

Only if they are incredibly stupid. One, they loose the church member, and two, hopefully, they loose their tax exempt status by becoming a extension of a political party instead of a church, which is a tax-exempt corporation.

If the church has any common sense, you don't bring politics into the sanctuary. It's just nuts. You will always alienate members of the congregation, no matter which side you take, and you are just one phone call to the IRS away from having your property taxed like everyone else.

That's not what churches are for. God. Oh yeah. Him. That's what they're for.
