Why not? You think they wouldn't get anymore presents?

The santa thing is very stupid. It is deliberate lying to children. You shouldn't lie to them and make them take fantasy as reality. Children must learn what is real and from that they must know what is real. Knowing fantasy to be real is, well, that is something that billions do... and not just children.

But seriously, don't lie to your children like that. It might seem like "innocent", but it's not. A lie is a lie and this one is a major one. They do not need a santa as real in the first place.

Side: YES!

DO YOU TELL TO ADULTS THAT GOD OR JESUS DOESN'T EXIST? Some do, but kids will still believe until they figure it out for themselves.

I have to be honest ... It's actually hard to answer this because your ether liein or following a tradition .. Well for meh I have to say I would rather not lie everyone might be saying Santa is real to their kids but they are telling them lies and don't parents want kids to never lie .... Well why the Fhucken do it to them. And also god knows living is bad. And a million ppl are doing this shit why? Like combos everyone keeps saying they are helping there children but with Fhucken what?

Creativity, imagination and counter-factual learning play a significant role in cognitive development.

I haven't decided whether or not to present this lie to my future children or not (either way they'll find out about it), but I'm certainly not going to take away the cognition progression the child is on by believing and discovering it's falsehood.

Uh... Possibly the oddest debate topic ever...?

And no, why would you even do that? "Santa Clause" for children gives them a bit of hope and imagination.

Hope based on lies is never a good thing. Because in the end it will always come crumbling down. Unless you crumble first...

And imagination? Read them some fairy tales. But don't tell them it is real, it would just be wrong.

Side: YES!

Your absolutely right, why should we stop at Santa. Let me be the first to tell you that your short stick is never going to get any longer.

To disappoint kids............................... That is not good. Do not tell them until they are older. That would be good

WTH? Something about that doesn't sound right? I know Santa has a sleigh but, does he also have a white van with no windows?

Why not buy kids presents instead of making them believe in a myth? Never made sence to me.

Side: YES!

It is also good to do anything to kids. You have control over them mah.......................... Then it is good

I would not presume to intervene in how others raise their children, but I will gladly give a witness that nothing about Christmas (its customs or its date), is Christian, but actually all of them come from paganism.

i don't have any kids... but when i do, i'll let them believe in what they want. my mum never told me there was someone called santa. i got to know about it from a friend. and nobody told me that he doesn't! its just parents giving us gifts. so no i was never told that santa was real and neither was i ever told that santa was just another fairy tale. i grew up. so will the other kids. hopefully

Side: no

I am not a parent, so i am not going to make the decision as to whether or not their kids should know the truth.

However, i don't see the reason as to why a kid can't be told the truth. I found out at a very early age, and yet i still enjoyed all the christmas stories about Santa, because even though i knew it wasn't a true story it was still an entertaining story never the less.

Side: no

Never! I was a child once and I loved believing in Santa Claus. Anyone who tells children there is no Santa Claus is a cruel person who forgot his/her childhood.
