What kind of a question is that?!?!?!?!?! Kids under the age of 18 should NOT be under the influence of drugs. All it would do would create a SODA-OVER-THE-COMPUTER effect on your brain!

Side: NO NO NO

in my pinion it depends on what you mean by drugs

alcohol - i think that in certain cercumstances they should, ie they are allowed to drink in pubs but only so many units (this would mean breathalizing anyone under 18 before selling them drinks)

cigeretes - in my opinion no, i know a lot of people younger than 18 who smoke and they risk their lives doing it, they all try to quit but cant and its all because they started when they were young and were to irrisponsible to make a concious decision. if im honest ive tried it before. it doesnt seem a big deal and was just somthing i wanted to try but my riends do smoke way too much

marijuana - in my opinion n one under 18 should use it, i am sceptical about whether or not it should be legal. i dont know much about it but i think if they were able to limit it and test for it (similarly to how they do with drink driving) then the should seriously consider legalizing it. however as things stand, i think it should remain illegal

Side: depends on the drug

do you think kids under the age of 18 should do drugs

A more specific question would be much appreciated.

I will assume that you are asking about drugs such as Marijuana, X, Zanex, basic hallucinogens, stimulants, and depressants AKA drugs that get you high in some sense.

No kids under the age of 18 should not do drugs, it is bad for the developing mind. Once they are in their mid twenties I could care less, however before their mind has fully developed messing around with different drugs can be detrimental to one's development as well as being possibly fatal.

There is evidence which shows that teens under the age of 18 are not legally responsible for the commission of offenses in some states because their brains are not fully developed as yet. In other words, their brains are in a state of immaturity. Now if you give them drugs such as cocaine, marijuana or heroin, it could further affect their mental and or phyisical health which can lead to the commission of criminal acts in society or acts leading to severe or great consequences. Also, their constant dependence on the use of the above mentioned drugs will result in a state of addiction thus causing them to lose concentration on their academic responsibilties.

No, it should be legal for people over the age of 21 for certain drugs, others are just too dangerous to the person and to others around that person.

I agree with wolfman in that your topic needs to be more specific, though I won't simply assume you mean "those big bad drugs like weed and mushrooms" whose effects on any age cower in comparison to the side effects of certain pharmaceuticals. Also, I won't assume you're referring to hard drugs like heroine or crack, since were talking about children, for if you were, by all means yes run down to you seediest neighborhood with a 20 bill from your mom's purse and ask for a rock of crack.

I'll assume you're asking should children modify their states with all chemicals whether legal, illegal, or pharmaceutical. Children SHOULDN'T modify their states with buckets of sugar, but they do, they have for a long time, and will continue to for a long time. Perhaps kids self medicate (as we all do) making it difficult to assign fault, therefore the only real solution is to educate. What's worse, a kid smoking to cope with their depression, cutting themselves (yes it's a drug [release of adrenaline]), taking prozak (sexual dysfunction, diarhea [ssri's can also cause serotonin syndrome (induced psychotic episodes)]? How many cigarettes would you have to smoke to reach these potential side-effects?].

It's rarely as black and white as "do drugs or don't do drugs". A significant portion of kids under 18 are medicated with dangerous drugs and it's ok because you're told it's ok. Kids are already doing drugs.

So wrapping up,

Should kids get high on sugar? Kids are doing it and no amount of debate will stop it.

Should kids get high on glue, weed, salvia, shrooms, alcohol, gas, nicotine, payote, cocaine, food, work, sex, etc..? maybe not, but most of these are still better than their pharmaceutical counterparts.

Should kids be medicated with pharmaceuticals? Fine line. There's a clear difference between treating a kidney infection with antibiotics and forcing tens of thousands on kids to take ritaline or dexedrine because they're hyperactive.

The answer, if complications can lead to death, then yes take meds.

Not counting medicine you get from the Doctor, I believe that NO ONE should be allowed to do any sort of drugs. People I care about do drugs and I fear for them every day.

Should they do drugs? No. Can they do them if they want to? Sure.
