According to me it definitely does matter. Of course, practice does bring you success but the depth of the success is what which is important. That depth can be achieved by the one who's got talent in that field.

Some people are simply born with a natural talent, look how some people do things so easily without much practice, some students pass easily without much study, etc etc. There are many people who have talent some who are able to use it well in their lives and some not, the rest of us, probably most of us, have to practice, practice, practice, and the people with real talent are those who are able to motivate themselves to do something they have to learn the hard way and keep on doing it until they are so good at it that they excel.

Side: yes, it does.

Yes, talent matters, but that doesn't mean that it is necessary. Anything can be learned without natural ability, it's just that natural ability helps. To say that talent is irrelevant would be false, as it clearly gives you a head start of sorts, but that doesn't inherently mean that a skill that one person has naturally cannot be nurtured in another.

Side: yes, it does.

This is not my stance on this, but is that of Human Resources. Human Resources claim that talent is not important because anybody can be trained to do a job, but what is important is how your psychological profile is. They strictly look for people (according to them) that can work well in factory type settings. This is why they ask all those retarded questions over and over again on their job applications.

Side: no,it doesn't.

Even the least talented guy with his share of big fortune can put up outstanding performances and in the end performance is what that matters;Talent makes you down,over-confident and certainly tension-free but unless you sweat your skin off ,you would never be anywhere close to your objective;'Talent' is more of an over-hyped term.
