I find it quite strange that there's only two sides of this. It's either "Love Allah" or "I hate!1111!!!", with no in-between. It would fit better to have this side be "I'm fine with Islam",because this implies that you can be okay with Islam/willing to let it live, or redeem itself.
The point is, if Christianity can redeem itself with time, then I believe that Islam will too.

Both Islam and Christianity function largely without violence in economically developed countries because this is the common denominator for a milder version of religion, not time.

People say "Islam is a religion of peace", and other people say "Islam is a religion of hate", and I think they're both wrong. Islam is just a religion like any other, which is just a tool like any other. You can use it to find purpose or make peace with your place in the universe, or you can use it as an excuse for violence. Pity that the latter is a popular choice in this day & age, but a violent person will find what they want to believe is a valid excuse regardless.
