Hell no !!

In the first place , we belong to the climax of food chains of all , and all divergence of species and knowledges always treasured since time being . The more human beings could garnered and possessed , the more advancement would be achieved .

English , inevitably , the most powerful and globalised language amongst all found on earth ; yet , French too plays an important role in human's history . Historical blossoms knowlegdes seems not to be faded by time , as like English - that conquer the likings of all civilizations nowadays . A language is not only a language itself , in the contrary , also the concoctions of the art , creativity , wit ... and the like of the ancient folks and modern world practisers .

Hence , I can't find a reason to abandon learning French , parallel with the grasp of English in our daily life .

Arguably, one's energy and effort would be much more usefully applied to learning Chinese or Spanish or Arabic than French particularly if you look at absolute primary language populations and the geographic nuclei of international political and economic issues.

Or for that matter, why learn any language? The purpose would be either to communicate with a rural and or/uneducated person who doesn't speak English, or for fun, or to feel more cultured.
