No pillow is as soft as a guilt free conscience. A religious person should rely on his conscience.

Absolutely not. Not because they are immoral or anything, but because they have no better a moral code than any other person who is part of modern society. The fact that they are religious is irrelevant. You know what, on second thought they shouldnt be used as a guide in the case of abrahamic religions.

Islam is obviously a horrible moral guide set in a bronze age like mentality that preaches hate and violence among other things. Christianity is not better. It acts like it is but if you really analyze it it's not. The bible is in my top 5 worst places to get your morals for obvious reasons. Getting them from god is absurd because he's a jealous, egotistical, selfish, murderous, bully, and most of the teachings are either god-related (and therfore useless), immoral by modern perspective, or obvious.

A good majority of the teachings in the bible relate back to god and are therfore useless when speaking about morality. They are useless to society because they are all for the benefit of oneself and to god. They help nobody. And if you dont believe in sed god they become even more pointless.

Alot of things in the bible are immoral from a modern perspective. For instance the gay discrimination. All of that crap branches from the bible. And not only that, but from the old testament, which according to many theists ive talked to, isnt supposed to apply anymore so i dont get that reasoning. Also theres the whole killing nonbelievers and witches and people who work on sundays, shunning family members, dismembering yourself, and forsaking your loved ones to submit yourself to the lord.

Last but not least, most of the stuff in the bible that is supposed to be "great moral teachings" are completely obvious lessons that any five year old in our society today already knows. Dont kill, dont steal, dont tell a lie. Well no fucking duh. We dont need the goddamn bible for that. Every toddler in america can tell you that and they cant even read the bible yet. This illusion that the bible and god are the sources of all of our morality is completely absurd. We gain our morals from what we observe and gather around us at a young age, from parents and friends and society. That is what shapes our morality, not a fairytale book about a maniacle slave driver in the sky.

Aaaand boom goes the dynamite.

Your argument makes me mad so I'm going to ignore it and simply say you're wrong.

I don't think there is an argument present here as everything boils down to morals.

Yes, I think I agree with you. Religion might be a source of morality; but our morality is also dictated somewhat by the society at large. And the conscious and morality are two different things.
