No. LDR"s are not "wrong" per se, but man, they are very difficult to maintain. The vast majority of them don't pan out in the long run. I have tried twice and both relationships petered-out. In the first one my gf whom I met when I was in undergrad school moved to California to go to college. And after about a year of emails and phone calls and me flying out there once to see her, she wrote me the dreaded "Dear John" letter. And the next time I tried an LDR it was ME who met somebody else, which worked out for the best I think because that someone else is now my fiance here in Detroit. She works at the University where I go to school. But yeah, LDRs are hard. I would say that unless you are married or engaged..let just say the two involved are only "boyfriend and girlfriend" level, that 80% of them do not survive past two years. Just my own personal wild-ass scientific guess, but IO bet it's pretty accurate. If it is YOU in a potential LDR, I wish you the best of luck. You will need it, my friend. 1

Sometimes I feel like a long-distance relationship is perfect for me. I don't really like living together with girls. That's why I haven't asked any of my girlfriends to live in a place. I like just to communicate and go on dates and in order to find a girl I use the site sofiadate.com. I specified to the girls in advance that I didn't have serious intentions and some of them agreed to just hang out together. 1
