I love the Harry Potter series. When reading the first book I couldn't put the book down. Even though it was such a big book I found that it only took me a couple of days to finish the book. There was a great feeling that it gives you and it makes you emotionally attached to the characters. This feeling was not there when I read the Percy Jackson series. Side: harry

As much as I love the "The son of Neptune" and "The Last Olympian", I'm gonna have to give this to Harry. Not only is he a more complex character than Percy, the harry potter books are just better written and more in depth. Percy Jackson is a more surface area kind of guy. I enjoy both but I prefer Harry Potter. Side: harry

Percy Jackson is a book series for younger children (children say 9 to 13) but harry potter is more for advanced readers such as teenagers and adults. The plots are both fantastic but Percy Jackson is better for those who enjoy monsters fighting demigods or gods having children with humans. Harry potter's plot is more interesting and of course the Harry potter books involve wizards fighting wizards and magic. Now if this argument is based on the main characters and their abilities and not the book series its self then Harry potter would win every single time!. Percy would always lose because magic is stronger the elemental control (Water) and Percy isn't as smart as Harry, Percy is rash and impulsive. Although Percy can wield a sword and shield doesn't mean he can attack of defend against magic, if he wasn't Poseidon's son and instead Hecate's child (Goddess of Magic) then maybe he could defend against magic. Harry Potter is a more powerful character because of his magical abilities and because he isn't impulsive and reckless. Harry can use a sword but he isn't a good warrior. His magic would defeat Percy before Percy could even move. In a battle of smarts harry would win. Side: harry
