A doctor and /or Hospital Board would be professionally, morally, and ethically responsible in investigating any unexplained deaths and if there were suspicious circumstances then the appropriate authorities would be contacted

Side: you would reveal the incident

Yes, I would feel some kind of a moral obligation to explain the reason(s) for a high incident of unexplained deaths.

You should reveal the incidents to your Administrator. If nothing is done about it, then you would go to the press.

It's not the doctor's position to reveal it to the public. There are protocols in place to investigate. There is a marketing/media department that handles issues. It would be unethical for an observed trend to be reported without applying critical thinking and epidemiological methodology to a circumstance. Question fails.

Any sign of any significant pattern between the deceased at all? @.@

I'd just get the hospital to avoid taking in any more patients until we gather more evidence. Telling the public about a sudden increased inunexplained deaths, would cause unnecessary panic and no one would want to come to the hospital anyway. Sure, people will find out anyway, but at a much slower rate. Maybe we can figure out the issue before too many people know.

And we wouldn't want any of the patients panicking and trying to leave, cuz what if its some sort of disease that can be spread.
