save 5 lives for 1?

Imagine you were on a train that was out of control and could not stop. therefore, you couldn't control where it could go.

But, you could change the tracks so thatthe train would go one way instead of the other.

On one side there are 5 workers on the track and the train is hurtling towards them. And on the other side is 1 worker, therefore if you changed the tracks, you would still be kiling a worker.

Would you change the tracks?

If you have to make the choice between innocent people and innocent people, the unfortunate reality is that you have the moral high ground and responsibility to treat them like numbers.

Are the workers blind? And deaf? What kind of work could they possibly be doing?

they are not deaf, blind etc. they are just in the wrong place at the wrong time, they don't know the train is coming towards them.

Anyway, I'd probably go for the loner.

You cannot think logically about the question ( if you were how would you jump off a moving train without injuring yourself) it is more a question of morals

you see, this is the thing. we were given this at school and we were in groups to voice our opinion and our group's answer was it doesn't make any sense because you can't get off and we were told by the teacher to pretend, and we were like, well we can't pretend because you can't. that's school for ya.

Oh, I can think logically. That is why I asked that. People who can see and hear would see and hear the train coming and would get out of the way.

I don't think a human has the right to decide if another human lives or dies, not for religious reasons it's just what I believe if you imagine there was no one on that train then those 5 people would die anyway. It should never be a persons decision to make, just leave the train to carry on going the way it was going fate and all that jazz.

If I were not there, the 5 would die, and the 1 would live. Therefore, there is nothing wrong in letting the 5 die.

Assuming morals and shit are actually binding of course.

No one wants to die and we try all to avoid it we don't know what will happen the hell or paradise or nothing? But surely they reflex we would try to save them.

But the question is am i ready to die for them?

I dint think personally it is not that I'm selfish but it is the fear. But I will die anyway one day so I hope this is not ending in that way
