Are there some sources for your claims that 50% of foster cares abuse kids, and that all kids hate their foster homes?

What do you propose should be done with children who need to be removed from abusive parents/caregivers?

I have been in foster care for fourteen years, all my life and the carer I have now. I have been with for seven years and she can't go a whole days without yelling at me, she has been really mean to me, she was only meant to have us for two weeks. My real mum never tells me off, because I never do anything wrong

My brother has been in care for fifth teen years and a month ago he was allowed to live back with our mum!! If my foster mum didnt want me then I'd go back to my mum, and I know that because I have been told!! I'd rather be loved on the streets than hated with a home

I was put in foster care at age 13, I wish they would have left me with my abusive parents! While in "care" I went through hell, they don't care about abused kids they don't even try to help you they just abuse you further. I was a straight A student and they removed me from school half way through grade 8! I went into foster care a happy, outgoing well adjusted child and left a complete mess!

Foster care with as many dark sides as it has, it is still better than having kids living on the streets. And I feel that most of those kids whether they know it or not are thankful for being kept off of the streets.

I was in foster care. I ran away from the hell of foster care and ended up homeless on the streets at age 16.

60% of children rescued from sex trafficking where from the foster care system. I'm not so sure I could agree to your statement that the children are safe from the streets

I was one, for a time. Yes, it was bad, but I am thankful that I didn't end up on the streets. I would suggest a better regulation of the conditions within foster homes. Many children rely on this system.

The aim of foster care is to help kids because of their situation. I believe in giving kids a chance. If we decide we don't want foster care what are the alternatives to deal with the situation these kids are in?

Legalizing abortion would prevent some of the needs for foster care in the first place. This won't solve the problem of parents "changing their mind" or being bad parents (drugs, alcohol, abuse). It will take care of some the situations where a child is not wanted in the first place.

Maybe the real question/debate is if there should be tighter controls/regulations for foster care. Who should be responsible for administering the programs? Feds, State, or county.

Are foster families equipped to deal with a child who has experienced abuse? (Physical, emotional, sexual, psychological). What would make someone "qualified" to deal with a child that has been through this?

I support the Idee, we as a NOP, Cape To Cairo for the homeless kids of Africa Foundation, found that with the good intentions we have to take kids of the street, it is just an impossible task, if only we can place a system where it is possible for foster families to can adopt with out the red tape, so we can help to better the life's of those that cant help them self's, if celebs can do their part successfully why not those that can afford to care for one more kid,

As an exdrug addict with 4 children, I say yes they should exist. I am grateful for the 3 different families that took in my children and loved them like they were there own. It took 3 time of my kids being removed from me, before I realized that CPS was their to help me give my kids the brightest future. I am grateful that these foster homes were available for my children to go to while I received the help I needed.

I was in foster care and have had a totally different experience. Foster care saved my life do i think that the system should work more efficiently to insure that foster parents are properly screened yes. However I was finally put in a good home and they made it possible for me to get into the independent living program and go to college. This is an opportunity i never would have had otherwise. Without foster care my step dad would have killed me so yes foster care should exist in fact it is essential.

Foster care may not be as caring as it should be but the kids should at least be able to say that they have a place to live.
