I think if more women pursued martial arts and self defense, we would see less physical abuse by men, and fewer violent crimes against women.

Duh, that's like asking if guy's should play softball. Who would say no to this?

of course they should theres no reason why not yes it has fighting but that dosnt mean that girls cant do it

There is nothing manly about a fighting style that can only be used in defence.

Girls would probably have more to gain from a self-defense class than males anyway. This preoccupation with gender roles is antiquated.

I think girls should go for martial arts classes but most of my friends never went coz they thought they were only for boys and much too manly....

Yes because if a girl needs to defend herself from like people who are going to steal her purse she could defend herself by using karate.
