Since people seem to be so against human testing, we really don't have much of a choice. Rats are pretty dispensable anyway considering their breeding rate.
We need to test on something. We should not test on humans, and since there's no solid proof animals have the same conscious though process, they're the only thing we can test on.
While I value all life, I would put that of humans above others. But I would never condone torture upon another animal or any other kind of cruel and unusual inflictions. If you must test them, it shouldn't be very painful. If a monkey must die for scientists to find the cure to cancer, I will put up with that. If a monkey must endure unimaginable pain to find a cure for cancer, I'm against that.
If we don't test on animals, and instead test products on humans exclusively, and someone dies during one of these product tests, there will be people complaining about testing on humans. See, the problem is, in order to make sure a product is safe, something has to be tested on. The way I see it, with the way our society works, it's more ethically agreeable for an animal to die or have some sort of permanent defect than a human being.
MAYBE, we should not make products that need to be tested.. Like fuck, if theres something in it that could kill someone I'm doubting it's good for the environment... Sooo.. To save all the arguing... Just dont.
YES YES YES YES YES! Mabey if we use PURE herbs and stuff ( which btw have amazing powers) we would not have to test and it would be good for the eviroment AND our health. WHY do people bother with these STUPID cosmetics/ medicine THAT DONT WORK AND ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOU???? Look at ingredient list guys, and look up those REALY hard to spell words and u will be discused. I got way off topic, but all of this stuff will kill you eventually...
Animal testing can be very misleading and the results can actually be irrelevant. For example, penicillin was shown to be extremely poisonous because testing done on animals.
Alternative tests, for example microdosing, have been developed for many things because people standing up for animals rights, and exclusive full dose testing is unnecessary in many cases. If people continue to take a stance against vivisection, even more will be developed.
do u have any pets? if u do, imagaine THEM getting tested on. If u dont, think of someone u have a relation with is a animal getting tested and possibly dying.
do you have any family members? imagine THEM dying because of no testing getting done on medical procedures. If you don't think of someone you have a relation with is dying because of no medical testing on animals.
EXACLY what i was saying. See? You might be confused with what i was saying.... i said that killed is better that prison so we might use them as lab rats.
it is NOT easy. Never getting to say bye to family (or sorry for what i did) and it could cause pain. and if they survived, back to jail life and more testing. Woud you, who most likely is not in jail, want to be tested on or someone who is truly evil, because they killed someone? Any way, i honestly say no one or any animal should be tested on.
Actually it is hard to say yes or no in this question. Because, we need to test important products such as medicine to see if the product is successful. Feeding or doing something to other animals (humans are animals too) that can possible kill them is wrong. I find it extremely wrong and sad because animals who are forced in these activities do not have a say.
I don't want somebody to test products on me that can possible affect me in someways. It is abuse.
In my point of view testing on animals is not right, because of several reasons.
Firstly, we are all equal. So, no one fellow have no right to choose which fortune will animal have. People must find an alternative way to solve the problem with testing animals.
Secondly, we are taught from childhood that forcing those who are weak and can not fight back is not fair. But why knowing it, people continue testing on animals.
And the last reason is respect for nature. Humanity faced a lot of troubles because of neglect of nature, so i think that with the time people will face a lot problems, if we do not stop testing on animals.
