If television is the leading cause of violence, we would expect a notable increase in violence ever since television was created, with the level of violence steadily increasing as more time is spent watching TV.

We don't see this, at all. So if we're to accept that television is the leading cause, we must also accept that other causes of violence have decreased significantly. I see zero evidence of that.

I believe that things seen on television, in movies, in video games, in comic books, in real life, or pretty much anywhere can give an individual who is already planning on or prone to violence ideas on how to proceed, but I don't believe that they are a cause of violence.

This Debate is a total fail. I'm pretty sure that if someone see's Daniel Tosh pull out a Gun and shoot his audience member ( Which he Did), they know not to do it. As many Tv shows I see people being Killed, I'm not going to kill somebody the same way. "We'll Norman Bates Killed A girl, So I can do it too! "" EPIC FUCKING FAIL.

Saying T.V. is the leading cause is like saying video games or music is the leading cause. Violence is everywhere in the entertainment industry.

Well if that were true, one would expect there was little violence before the invention of the TV. And yet....
