Well, as the Statists love to point out whenever I say that government, in general, does bad, is that thanks to War (deaths of thousands of people for usually bad reasons) we have THE INTERSTATE SYSTEM!!!! THOSE WONDERFUL ROADS!!!

YAY ROADS!!!!

So I guess big government is justified after all. I mean, you can't successfully kill thousands of people without some of those state funded roads.

war creates prosperity for country's economy. it definitely stimulates domestic economy. in the time of war, there's a pure ideological patriotism, thus high taxes finances different government spendings.

“War is horrible, but thank God we have men and women who are willing and able to protect our people and our freedom” (Higs, 2012). These men and women may be willing and able to supply such protection, but do they? Ex-president of the USA constantly proclaimed that their wars are aimed at protecting people and their freedoms—“We go forward” declared George W. Bush (2001) (as cited in (Higs,2012)), “to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world” .

There can be little doubt that technological advancements do, regrettably, arise from war. However, "progress" to me denotes more than simply mankind's ability to kill each other more efficiently - or see in the dark - or land a man on the moon. Social progress (the progress we ought to be striving for) is nearly always set back by war. Poverty, hunger, disease, crime and joblessness all arise as a result of war in the vast majority of cases - as well as a terrible body count. There is no need to develop faster computers if there are too few and too poor people to use them.

Side: death of people

War only causes death and destruction, therefore, war is detrimental to progress.
