People, They're the worst.

Deeply religious people. If they aren't trying to convert you or show off their belief system, then they are spewing hate and ignorance.

I don't hate many things but there are only a couple of things I hate they are large spiders and being patronized.

Wow... you are so naïve .

I don't feel a full on rage, but what I feel for most insects can be described as hatred, or annoyance. I don't like them in my house, or touching the things I use.

I don't hate anything.

I hate when people try to argue with me on something that I worked all my life on that I study on for years. And I hate when people say that I spell bad. I spell bad because I don't give a crap about taking my time on spelling something nice.

So you spell bad because you're lazy? Nice.

What is it that you've worked your "whole life" on and studied for years? If you're an expert, then you should enjoy trying to prove people wrong.

I do enjoy proveing people wrong. But alot of people will just not give up knowing there wrong. And still try to argue with me that there right.

I spell bad because we are smart to guss what there saying. so there is no need to spell nice.

IKR I don't like it when I get that as well. My grammar will be sloppy and abysmal, just how I like it, it doesn't affect my debating thank you very much snobs.

You are too lazy to present yourself intelligently through appropriate spelling and you never substantiate your assertions with evidence... yet you are surprised and offended that people do not take you on your word. Please.

Big scary America! Oooooooo! The arrogance that I'm finding on this site is astounding.

How could you hate something that you don't understand? We're practically the same, you're just too blind to see it. I find it funny that Brits are always pointing out American ignorance, but since I've joined CD, I've been shocked to learn that we know more about Britain than they do about America.

I know you haven't been here... you told me. I've been over there though and I thought it was great, but I didn't feel safer than I am here. I didn't look at it and think, "Oh, this is so much better than America!". It was basically the same... just less organized, in my opinion (I was in the busier areas though).

Since you're SO scared of America, I went ahead and did a little research for you. Something that you tend to skip over, is the fact that we are significantly larger than the UK in both size and population. You seem to think all of America is like Chicago, New Jersey, New York, etc. So I made a list of our safest States and compared it to England and Wales... but then I figured, "what the hell! I'll throw in a few more states.". So keep in mind that some of them don't really have reputations as "safe states".

By the way, the numbers are from 2012.

Minnesota: Population: 5,379,139 Crime: 150,571

Maine: 1,329,192 Crime: 34,992

Vermont: 626,011 Crime: 15,909

North Dakota: 699,628 Crime: 15,775

New Hampshire: 1,320,718 Crime: 33,174

Utah: 2,855,287 Crime: 91,300

Alaska: 731,449 Crime: 24,449

Colorado: 5,187,582 Crime: 155,293

New Mexico: 2,085,538 Crime: 86,754

England and Wales: Population is about 56,000,000... Crime: Almost 500,000 per month... so that's about 6,000,000 crimes per year.

As far as land mass goes, I'm pretty sure I have surpassed England and Wales... but population wise, I'm a little off. But keep in mind, that the total US population is significantly higher than the UK's... so I think this is a pretty fair comparison.

I don't really hate anything, though I have a number of peeves.

If you were to ask me what my biggest pet peeve was, I would say the spelling and grammar police. There is a token police force on every single forum I've ever visited!

I understand that spelling and grammar matter in many cases. A misspelling can cause the reader to believe you meant one word when you meant another, and as such can totally derail the meaning of a statement; a grammatical error can derail a statement in the same manner. These issues should be avoided, and should be pointed out for clarification when they occur. No problems there. But the grammar police don't merely point out the error, they derail the entire conversation to crucify the one who erred.

But for the overwhelming majority of typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors, there is simply no need for the police. In most cases, what the writer was trying to say is not particularly disrupted by the odd error here and there. And yet, the police derail the entire conversation to attack these issues, and make unfair extrapolations regarding the position and intelligence of the victim to boot. Not everybody browses forums on a desktop with a full keyboard these days- many people are browsing on a phone or a tablet, after all. It's easy to bicker about a period when it just means moving your pinky about a centimeter, but when you need to press one key 5 times and then wait another second to generate a period, or when you need to browse to a symbol/punctuation menu first, it's pretty reasonable to just omit the period when it doesn't disrupt anything. Some people just aren't as eloquent as others. Some people don't speak English natively.

So in all seriousness, the spelling/grammar police need to fuck right off. If an error is particularly disruptive towards the discussion, note it and ask for clarification. If it's not, just let it go. In neither case crucify the one who made the error; it doesn't help anyone except your petty little ego!

The WORST thing about the grammar police? They're cannibals; if one makes the SLIGHTEST error when they are, shall we say 'critiquing' someones post, the officer will be EVISCERATED by his peers.
